Best version of the Bible read.

David Suchet’s reading is amazing. I can listen to this all day. I have a few different versions, but this one is my favorite.

David Suchet knows what he is reading. He has wisely studied and used his wonderful voice and training to give us this.

The Bible? It is living and true - applicable to all.

Which scene was your favorite?

I will say Luke and Acts. Pay attention to how the disciples figure out who Jesus really is and how they live after his death and resurrection.

Phenomenal...except...

David Suchet does a phenomenal job bringing these historical stories to life! The only issue is that the chapters aren't labeled. It's a big guessing game trying to skip around to find what you're looking for in 260 chapters.

Insightful reading of a sublime subject

David Suchet's reading shows his appreciation and understanding of the message of the Holy Gospel. His skills as an actor are so evident in the way he allows the apostles words speak to the listener through him. In some readings the narrators smother the text by overacting. In this narration, there is no such barrier between the listener and the Word. Mr. Suchet's rendering can be listened to again and again, making it wonderful for contemplation.

The Word of God Without Distractions

I love the quiet, yet dramatic voice of the narrator! The recording has no musical intro, background music or noise, so that one may concentrate on the words being spoken. This is the New International Version, which is the greatest selling version of the Bible currently. It’s a balanced translation that gives word for word, yet explains when necessary. I recommend following along with text, but you can listen anytime, really.

I have admired David Suchet ever since I was introduced to him as Hercule Poirot. To know that he is a born-again Christian who has no problem confessing it, makes this particular edition so extraordinary and special. Thank you, Mr. Suchet, for recording this work.

Great calm voice, not a robot. I have looked all my life for a non_cheesy voice or robot voice. This is it! I can’t wait to listen to it after I wake up, and I always fall asleep listening to it!
