Ever since he became a Christian at the age of forty, it has been Poirot actor David Suchet's dream to make an audio recording of the Bible. In between filming the final episodes of Poirot, David Suchet spent over 200 hours in the recording studio to create the very first full-length audio version of the NIV Bible spoken by a single British actor. This Old Testament edition is excerpted from that Bible.

This audio Bible is also available as an app. The app contains the full text of the New International Version (British Text), so you can easily navigate the audio or read and listen at the same time.

Watch for poor translation in parts. But wonderful to listen to. Peaceful restful and soothing

Love David Suchet's narration!

Love David Suchet's reading! Of course, love the story:) There is a problem with how this is labeled. It is only the OT, but I thought that may be the case from other comments. Also, the comment about finding your place... Yes! Would have been easier to navigate if divided into individual books, but each chapter is a chapter. I like that. I am bookmarking and making notes to myself as I go, so I will know where the different books begin. Too happy to get this to complain! It used to only be available in UK! Thanks, Audible for making this available to US:)

A good choice

An accessible translation, read by an outstanding actor with an expressive, mellow voice. My one objection is that the file breaks sometimes come in the middle of a book.

Fantastic reading

This is a fantastic reading of Scripture. Despite not having chapter titles, it is very easy to navigate to an individual book. The audible chapters coincide with the Bible chapters, so finding a specific passage is easy. I enjoy it!

Excellent Performance!

As the owner of several versions and renditions of the Bible in audio format, I must say that this rendition of the NIV by David Suchet is by far the best to which I have listened. Lest I be misunderstood, I'm not just referring to an ex excellent performance. - which it certainly is - but rather the way in which this rendition "grabs" me every time I listen to it. The way in which the Bible is read speaks to my heart in a way no other audio performance has managed to do. Never before have I been able to listen to the Bible for hours at a time. I just cannot get enough of the Word in this version. As a result of result, I'm constantly noticing things I've never picked up before. This is definitely not for anyone looking for a quick sound byte or a verse or two a day. I cannot recommend this audiobook and its narrator more highly!

David Suchet narration of the Bible is so spot on that it keeps you attentive and in suspense of what is being said. I have two other audio bibles none compare.

Suchet's Beautiful Voice

He made even listening to the genealogies worthwhile! His voice and voice-acting is marvelous. He brings great nuance to the performance of Sacred Scripture. I have listened three times!
