Loved. Protected. Shattered.
Clover has found love with not one man, but four. He never imagined such a relationship could work, let alone that he’d be at the center of it, but a year later, his bond with the four mercenaries is stronger than ever.
Each man in Clover’s life completes him in a whole different way. Where Drake teaches him shibari, Boar always showers him with cuddles. Where Tank is strict and protective, Pyro takes Clover on wild adventures.
To truly become a part of the mercenary crew, Clover chose to train under the guidance of his men. He’s itching for action to prove to himself and to others that he can handle the toughest jobs.
But through violence and mayhem, Clover will be tried in ways he never wished for. Old enemies resurface, bonds are tested, and one wrong move can mean death.
Their Obsession is a dark gay harem contemporary romance, book two in the Four Mercenaries trilogy. The story contains scenes of explicit violence, offensive language, morally ambiguous characters, and lots of scorching hot, emotional, explicit scenes.

MC "Clover" is so childish, so irritating...

This was a phenomenal read! It starts out steamy and sweet, with several beautiful tender moments… but then the dark clouds start to gather and everything goes so incredibly dark for all the MC’s, though Drake, Clover and Pyro are put through the wringer the most. The writing was incredible, the emotions clear and intense and I just fell for these characters all over again, though it broke my heart to see the level of suffering they went through.
This was an amazing read, if not an easy one. I want me some happy tears in the follow-up.
Narration: Wyatt Baker continues with his wonderful take on these five very different characters, great performance!
Amazing story, what an emotional rollercoaster!

Amazing! Loved it!

1. Drake (???)
2. Boar (Jamie)
3. Tank (Adam)
4. Pyro (Matt)
Drake (No real name yet, but we do get more of his backstory) My heart goes out to Drake in this book. Please don't think the worst of him like some of you will do. I won't say what happens, but you can see that it was out of his hands and not entirely his fault. But it does cause a huge strain in the group that won't be resolved until the next book. Drake is a tortured soul that has come a long way, but the events of this book are a huge setback, which saddened me.
Boar! My poor Boar! My heart bleeds for him in this book and the next, since I've read ahead (but won't spoil the ending of the third book). If not for Drake, he would definitely be my favorite without question. How can you not love a man this sweet, cuddly and self-sacrificing?! Either way, he got the short end of the stick in this one.
Tank (who we finally learned his real name is Adam) may have rightfully had all the "I told you so's" in this book, but he still remains at the lower half of my list. I understand he is the "Daddy" of the Daddy/Boy dynamic, but he was so overbearing and argumentative throughout the book, that it annoyed me.
Pyro. (We get to see more of his insecurities and learn his name is Matt). In the first book, Pyro left a very sour taste in my mouth and this book...he did his best to stay in fourth place. However, I'm a fair person and I understand his grief and why he acts the way he does, but he's still not redeemed in my eyes. So, he stays at number four until book three. You'll see why if you read ahead like I did. Otherwise, keep an open heart for him until the next audio comes out.
In the first book, Clover exasperated me to no end with his rash decisions and whiny attitude. He did get better in this book and show some initiative that made me proud. Same goes for the next book. I feel like most of his bad decisions in this one were from the influence of the other characters, so I can't place all the blame on him this time around.
Okay, this book also lacked details that I still hate not knowing, even at the end I was left wondering about Drake's real name and the ages of all the characters. Those details may not matter to everyone, but they did to me. Leaving those details out wasn't a necessary plot point, so I don't see why they were excluded. Also, there is a point where Clover says he's been waiting for Tank to say "I love you" but he already said it before then. A small plot failure, but placing it in the middle of a huge couple's spat, made it stick out like a sore thumb.
Otherwise, this was another hit by the fabulous K.A. Merikan with Wyatt Baker as the narrator. I look forward to hearing the third book on audio.
Where For Art Thou, Boar!

I love how completely unique Wyatt Baker makes the voices of each character. That being said if the transition isn’t smooth or the character voice is off it makes it more noticeable. I noticed with a couple characters here and there but it happened with Drake a lot. He lost his speech impediment from his split tongue all over the place. I mean again I’m nitpicking he is still the most talented narrator at actually making it sound like multiple individuals so I am really not trying to complain, but I it just sort of took me out of the story a bit.
Overall it was great and I can’t wait to get into book 3
Still great but if I have to nitpick...
