About this listen

She is a grieving mother. He is a spoiled rock idol. The only thing they have in common is a flashy tabloid headline. Or so they think.

Running away from her tragedies and the demise of her marriage, Hazel Alexander retreats to a friend's Lake Tahoe cabin with big plans to drown her memories in bottles of wine. Being dragged into someone else's messy, high-profile divorce is not what she needs.

Especially if that someone else is Justice Cross, the front man of the popular rock band, The Deviant.

Born into a family of rock royalty, Justice lives his life fast and easy. When he comes across Hazel while at a local bar, his gallant attempt to get her home safely takes a complicated turn.

A PR nightmare forcing Justice and Hazel to spend time together triggers unexpected and intense feelings between the two.

With the constant attention of fans, haters, and press, now it's up to Hazel and Justice whether they want to fight for their relationship or end it once and for all.

Contains mature themes.

From Sinners to Saints?

Very well written. The overall story itself was one that was relatable to every day-people struggling with addiction and sobriety. Of course it kept its fantasy aspect in there rags to riches and a HEA. The issues and concerns that both the main male character and female character express and go through is very believable for the masses. The story line was not boring or overdone to the point of exhaustion and the SPICY moments went from habanero to mild jalapeño. I love that the author kept the vigor there and elevated it from a feverish and dominant act to a more intense act of passion and love without compromising the carnal connection of the couple.

I would love to read another book like this from this author. Both narrators did a wonderful job. I would have liked to see this done as a duet read with the two narrators.
Too bad there are no more books from this author on audible but to be honest how on earth could you follow this up!? Yes, storylines from other characters even the couple itself evolving to the next phase of their lives but nothing beats a good beginning. This book had a beginning, middle & end that was very satisfying.

Loved it but its a bit dark

🚨Spoilers🚨

I absolutely loved how dark and twisted this story was. They were a few times it was hard to listen. (So be aware if you have trigger issues to read the trigger warnings.) The Narrators did an excellent job conveying the emotions of the characters. Some of those moments were so raw and open. I think it takes a talent to make the reader/listener feel the emotions.

This is a rockstar romance which is my favorite kind. This book didn’t disappoint in anyway. Between both Hazel and Justice going through messy divorces and accidentally meeting and his fame and her completely and udder devastation over the loss of a child and his loss of his best friend, they truly have a lot to deal with. You watch them go through all these different and difficult stages of a new relationship and loss. They are both seeking an outlet for all the strain they are under and it sometimes comes out in some dark ways but they are genuinely good people. It really gives you a small look at what a person goes through with losing a child, divorce, instant fame, constant fame, manipulation of a spouse, custody battles, family concerns, band dynamics. They really go through a lot and come out the other side.

This will go in my top favorite books. Rockstar is something i am drawn to for sure for personal reasons, but just watching them and all their emotions and to come out the other side just shows how much you can endure and still find happiness.

Triggers: death of a child, divorce, drugs, overdose, car accident, very rough violent sex.

🌶️🌶️🌶️ very naughty

I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Off to the next 📖 book.

Musician romance.

Hazel and Justice both have a traumatic backstory. Mention of child loss, alcoholism, drug OD/use, and messy divorces. Lots of cursing, good enough spice, and character development through trauma and happy ending.

Loved every minute.

I can’t believe this is NN Britt’s debut novel because it was flawless to me. It was quality writing and quality romance. The author created protagonists I sympathised with and cared for; and she weaved a complicated relationship to entangle them. The author handled this relationship sensitively and beautifully. Sigh.

I was not even a quarter of the way through this book when I knew NN Britt was an author I wanted to binge on. But doh! She’s new! Only one book on Audible & one more on Kindle. Sigh. I might have to wait a long time to listen to another.

And I want to listen to these books. A search for Anastasia Watley led me to this novel, and so in addition to hearing Ms Watley’s excellent-as-usual narration, I discovered Troy Duran’s narration. I was entranced by his portrayal of the hero. What a talent.

I highly recommend this novel to lovers of romance, especially for lovers of Rockstar romances. Although this is a long novel of over 13 hours, I was riveted the whole time; not a dull moment. I look forward to more.

As I lost my only son, I suffer daily with what the heroine in book spoke about in her head. Things you cannot say out loud. Plus, the crying. No pill, alcohol, nothing takes away the pain except love. God has helped me tremendously, in ways only He can. We have to trust God. In this book, she found what she needed to live again, amazing ending. Perfect.

Sweet & Salty Rock n Roll Romance ❤️

There are some hard topics covered in this book about two broken (in diff ways) a rock n roll sex god and a woman whose lived thru hell at age 26.
The story is good, it’s diff than most in this genre but has all the good stuff you want!!! There are some very low times, sexy times. This is a book that while sizzles, is deeper than most in genre.
