About this listen

Ford spills blood as an enforcer for the Little Memphis MC.

Shay makes an impulsive choice to start over her life in a wild city controlled by a motorcycle club. Meeting Shay at the MC's bar Suede, Ford sees her as a shiny new toy to spice up his life. Shay sees him as a sexy bastard she needs to avoid.

The city of Little Memphis is filled with violence and dubious loyalties. The days of the club's supremacy are over as enemies fight for territory and alliances fall apart. It's a dangerous time to find love, but Ford and Shay have never been good at playing life smart.

Enjoyable MC Book

Any additional comments?

This is kind of an MC light book. Which is a nice change. I consider it a light MC book because of the humor. There is not usually a lot of humor and a lot more inter club drama/violence in this type of story.

This MC book has the MC bad boy enforcer with a hidden soft spot, the basically good girl forced to make some tough choices in her life, steamy sex scenes, humor, violence, family drama and a HEA. Everything you could ask for in a good MC book.

Meghan Kelly did a very good job with the narration. The story is told in dual POV's and her male voices were good as were the all the different female voices.

This is my first Bijou Hunter book and I have some catching up to do.

Alpha Hunk & Hotty Ford

If you could sum up Little Memphis in three words, what would they be?

An Excellent Listen.

What other book might you compare Little Memphis to and why?

Well its an extended or spin off of The Damaged Series... So it's all tired together ... Love that in a series...

Have you listened to any of Meghan Kelly’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Great as Always..

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

All the compulsive spelling by Bebe... Too Funny.

Any additional comments?

Well Shay rides in on the back of Jokers Bike... So small town gossip thinks it's his long lost Daugther... Reality he sees her in a Strip joint a town over getting man handled by an ar$ehole & steps in to help... Offers her an out that she takes & rides off to Little Memphis & his MC ... She's waiting to see what he or they really want but gets introduced to a bunch of people that she soon realise's that she's starting to like ...a lot ! One in particular the man whore Ford... Him & his brother who Ford has raised are Enforcers for the club... Only thing she misses her little brothers .. With a dead beat mother she took over that job.. Hence why she was stripping.. No one thinks Ford will ever stop his man who're ways but Shay has triggered something inside Ford that even shocked him... Was an Excellent book to read & was just as great to Listen to.. Well worth my money & time.. Very entertaining while doing the Mundane ... ❤️❤️,❤️Ed this book.

Very Enjoyable!!

Little Memphis is a well-written MC romance. It's well-plotted. The characters are awesome. The romance is steamy. And, Meghan Kelly does an incredible job bringing it all to life. This was a very enjoyable audiobook, and I strongly recommend it.

Little Memphis is not a Little Story

Would you consider the audio edition of Little Memphis to be better than the print version?

I wouldn't know as I didn't read it but I really loved the story I was happy to listen every time I had the chance!

What other book might you compare Little Memphis to and why?

It reminds me of Beyond Her Words: Corrupt Chaos MC.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

The Narration lagged a bit but was still good. There could have been a bit more emotion and realness to it though.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I wouldn't have minded shutting myself away for this one it was a good listen.

One of the Better MC Books

There are a lot of awesome MC romances and a lot of "meh" ones. Little Memphis was very well-written and better than most. I really liked that the characters were authentic. There was no glossing over or toning down Ford's job as an enforcer for the club. I appreciated Shay's total acceptance of him without endless, "I love him but he kills people" internal monologues and that she just makes her decision about him and sticks to it without whining. There was a lot of humorous banter between Ford and his brother and also between Ford and Shay that made me giggle out loud, and I loved the feel of their relationships. I also liked the realness of Shay. As a chick with limited funds, she buys a sexy nightgown at Wal-Mart, not Victoria's Secret, and hangs out with people who go shopping at the mall and leave not having been able to buy everything they want. I feel like that is much more reflective of real life and shows that people who struggle financially can still have a great love story to tell, even if they are telling it from a run-down rental in motorcycle boots and not a midtown high-rise penthouse in Christian Louboutins.

The narrator has a talent for voices. I really liked her male voices, and she performed the dialogue well. Her inflection and cadence in between the dialogue sounded a little unnatural but I got used to it as the book progressed. Overall, she did a good job.

I received this audiobook for free in exchange for an unbiased review. The number of stars I award in the 5-star rating system is based on where I believe this audiobook rates with other audiobooks of the same type, length and general feel-- not where it rates in comparison to all audiobooks of all time.

Good book but bad performance

Would you listen to Little Memphis again? Why?

Probably not, because the lady doing the characters was just not good at all. The men characters were just really bad, over dramatic and cartoonie,

Would you be willing to try another one of Meghan Kelly’s performances?

No. Would not buy a book that she was on.

Any additional comments?

Really wanted to read this book and almost switched half way through to the book version because audio version was so bad. But the book itself was really good.

I Hope There Will Be Another Book

Shay and Crawford's love story is a good one. I like that the author allowed shay to find a safe haven with this motor cycle club and not become a victim. She was always the strong one. Although she had to leave her brothers in order to get strong enough to save them. Hopefully the author is busy working on book two that shows how she helped save her brothers and brought them to live with her.
Crawford and Pax are brothers who have had each others backs most of their lives. Crawford or Ford as he is called is the older brother who protected Pax and they fight like siblings do. Both are the enforcers for the MC. When Ford meets Shay he falls hard and does not even know it. It is funny to listen at him trying to decide why he is so protective of her.
Yes there is sex between them and throughout the book but it is not overdone.

Okay story, great narration

This was an okay story made great by the narration. Meghan Kelly's performance was excellent. She did a great job giving each character a unique voice. I look forward to more from this author and narrator. I received a review copy at my request and voluntarily reviewed.

Enjoyable Listen, Fantastic 5 Star Performance

Shay has a crappy life as a surrogate mother to her younger brothers and caretaker to her drunk mother. One night she decides to make a choice and hops on to the back of the back of a motorcycle owned by a guy named Ford. Shay later realizes that Ford is an enforcer for the little Memphis motorcycle club.

Shay plays at being frightened and innocent (her true feelings) for a while until Ford will not take it anymore. They both collide at moving their "relationship" to the next level at the same time. After that night she belongs to Ford but that doesn't mean anything in this lifestyle. She may belong to him, but this does not make him a one woman only kind of man.

There are many fights and situations in which Ford must do his job or leave the club for a while. During these times she wonders if he is "cheating" with another woman or whether he'll make it back to the club alive.

This is an intriguing story and I listened to it, in its entirety, over two days. Some of the language and a lot of the sexual talk were a bit course for me, but I have found that to be true in several of the MC (motorcycle club) books I have listened to. If you like motorcycle books and don't mind the course language and dialogue, you will probably like this book a lot.

One of the reasons I thought I would give another motorcycle club book try is because of the narrator, Meghan Kelly. She is superb in all areas of voice performance. She continued her reputation with this book. I cannot imagine having to voice two burly motorcycle guys as a female, but she seems to do it with ease. The female characters were brilliantly performed as well. Five stars

The publishers warning is very telling of the entire book, I will integrate it, verbatim "this novel contains scenes of a sexual nature, violent things, and coarse language. It is intended for mature listeners." I would even go further and recommends that 'one must be comfortable with hard-core situation, violence & graphic, sexual material as well.

I am trying to keep my bias of the out-of-control, (in my opinion) sex and language. It is difficult to do *I was given this book in exchange for my review. I did not feel or hear an underlying plot or story line other than creepy Spencer – who made only two appearances. For a book that is the first in the series, I expected a little bit more. However, that being said, this book can easily be a standalone. There are a few minor details that need catching up in a future book.

Overall four, performance five, story three

MC Club with a twist

What did you love best about Little Memphis?

The story line kept me guessing about would she stay or go.

What did you like best about this story?

The story was well written and kept my interest. I found myself listening during my workday just so I could find out what happened with Shay next.

Have you listened to any of Meghan Kelly’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've never listened to Meghan Kelly before, so listening to here was fun and exciting. There are some readers who don't change voices, but Meghan did and that helps the characters come alive for me.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The part of the story with Shay's brothers touched me. I also loved that there was an epilogue on the story so I learned what happened when the story ended. That was great as most authors do not do that.
