About this listen

From New York Times best-selling author Samantha Towle comes a sexy and laugh-out-loud standalone romance....

Vaughn West is at the height of his acting career. He's the it man of Hollywood - until the ultimate betrayal sends him into a downward spiral of alcohol-infused days, ending with a different woman in his bed every night. His only way out of the funk is accepting a new movie deal with the hottest director in Hollywood.

Charlotte Michaels is a designer-brands girl on a thrift-store budget until she lands the mother of all jobs as Vaughn West's wardrobe assistant on his latest movie.

Only their first meeting doesn't go as planned, and now, Vaughn is acting like a jerk. So why do their clothes seem to keep falling off whenever they're around each other? And why can't Charly seem to keep her mind in the closet and off Vaughn? Things are about to get hot, dirty, and messy in Hollywood. Especially if Charly's closely guarded secret falls out of her closet.

Male narrator - mis-cast

The male narraror on this needs some practice on voices. He's a bit distracting here. I've heard him before, and he's been better. The female narrator does fine. The story is cute & funny. Haven't looked at the bio for this author, some of her wording is wrong for Americans, making me think she's British. It doesn't take away from the story.

Okay

The story line was just okay. The female narrator was great. I love the male narrator is great...when he’s reading a male. Seriously. Love it. But. Why do people keep approving his female voices.

I loved this, but...

I was in need of a story that was hot, gave me feels, and had a dreamy lead. This was it. I do have to say that I’m not a huge fan of the “tie it up with a big bow” HEA, so this was more of a 4-5 star read for me.

I just really enjoyed Vaughn and Pins (so cute) together. I also love the found family trope that was put in. Ugh, so good.

Quick note about the audio, I didn’t mind the narrators. Amanda was very good & Alexander was okay, but truth be told, I disliked his female voice. The majority of this book I read and gave up the narration.

I love this. The narration was great and it was super funny. I haven't read Towle in a while. Now I'm gonna binge was I can find of hers in Escape. Great listen!

Omg Omg!!! Best Romantic Comedy of The Year!!!

This storyline was just fantastic and I laughed and smiled at all the banter wit and snark throughout it. The romance and love between West and Charlie was amazing. Narration was great I'll want to listen to Amanda and Alexander again and again.

A really Good Story

I really enjoyed the story. Vaughn and Charly had great chemistry. I loved to hear them fight. The two were hilarious. I loved Vaughn's family and Charley's friends. What I didn't like was Alexander Cendese female voice. I think that it would have been good for a youth fantasy book like The Rangers Apprentice or one of ML Foreman books but definitely not this genre. He was great as a guy but his portrayal of a woman was not awesome. it's a good thing that Samantha Towle wrote such a great book or many would have stopped reading. I wonder if authors choose their narrators 🤔 I just find it hard to believe that the author would choose such a voice or maybe the pool of choices were not good. Either way still a good book. Enjoy😊

cute

Mr Cendese has an amazing voice as a man, but when he reads as a female it is really hard to endure. Ms Ronconi did a good job. the story was cute, first half had a lot of smiles. the drama in the second half was a little tedious. glad I listened but once is enough. peace

it was going great until there was a secret

Let me start by saying that the male narrator of this book has read several books that I've listened to in the past. He always sounds like he's talking in a rush and most of the time I can just let it go. For this book, he was mostly fine until he did any female narration. I don't remember it bugging me so much in the past, but in this book I was super irritated.

What kept this book from being a five star book was the sudden, inexplicable secret that showed up mid-way through the book. I hate when authors use secrets in stories. It's not fair. And deciding to spring it on us when everything is going so well was really frustrating. On top of that when the secret was revealed, I almost stopped listening. It's one of my things absolute NOPE plot lines. Somehow she managed to turn the book around and it ended with a happily ever after. It still left a bad taste in my mouth, though, and that's sad because I really enjoyed this book for the majority of the time. It's a fun story, one that many of us dream of.

Male narrator beyond distracting

I felt like I was listening to a voice over for a kids cartoon. The male narrator is talented but NOT the correct narrator for a romance audiobook!!
It was my love for Samantha Towle & Amanda Ronconi that kept me from giving up & returning the book after chapter 2.

Decent story, awful narration.

While I actually found the story pretty entertaining, both narrators were awful to the point of distraction. I can say I never want to hear either of their voices ever again.
