One of the Hardys’ favorite writers, Nathan Foxwood, has recently died in a tragic car accident. Now, the press is swarming his house in Bayport to get the scoop on the novel he completed just before his untimely death. When Joe hears that Nathan’s wife is having a giant estate sale, he drags Frank with him. Who could pass up the opportunity to see inside their favorite author’s home? Nathan’s wife says she wants to get away as quickly as possible. She’s sure the house is haunted. But Nathan’s assistant, Adam, is not so willing to blame it all on the supernatural.

Fenton Hardy requests his sons, Frank and Joe, to help him solve a case of stolen gold in Montana. The gang who stole the gold attempts to thwart their train ride from their home in Bayport on Barmet Bay on the Atlantic coast to Lucky Bottom, Montana. After finally arriving, the boys face more trouble with the gang as well as a mine shaft cave-in, a Rocky Mountain Blizzard, a pack of wolves, and finally Black Pepper, the leader of the gang. On top of all that, the boys needed to discover who was the first thief and who are the rightful owners of the gold.

Frank and Joe, the sons of famous detective Fenton Hardy, want to follow in their father's footsteps. Their first chance to solve a mystery comes when jewels and securities are stolen from the safe of the local Applegate mansion. To make matters worse, the father of one of their good friends has been charged with the crime. The lads help their father identify the thief, but the location of the stolen items remains unknown. Frank and Joe use their budding investigative skills to solve the mystery and clear the innocent man.

Frank and Joe are on a history club trip to New York City, and their first stop is the Prohibition Museum where they’ll hear about how smugglers building getaway vehicles led to the rise of modern stock car racing. During a tour of damp escape tunnels beneath the museum, Frank slips and breaks a wall panel with his elbow, revealing a hidden compartment containing documents from the 1920s!

Teenage sleuths Frank and Joe, the sons of famous detective Fenton Hardy, are back with another mystery: tracking down a band of elusive smugglers who have set up operations in their seaside hometown of Bayport. When they provide their father with some clues about some occurrences at a vacant house, and the possible identities of the smugglers, he suddenly disappears. The local police are of no help in locating Fenton Hardy...it's up to Frank and Joe to discover what has happened to their father, and at the same time break up the international smuggling ring.

While riding in their homemade iceboat on the frozen surface of Barmet Bay, Frank and Joe Hardy and Chet Morton discuss their plans for the upcoming Christmas holiday break. They visit Cabin Island but a mysterious stranger chases them off the island. The boys are invited to the home of Elroy Jefferson, a man whose car they returned in The Shore Road Mystery. They overhear an argument between Jefferson, the owner of Cabin Island, and Hanleigh, who is trying to buy the island. Mr. Jefferson rewards the boys and grants them permission to use the cabin for Christmas

"JOE!" Frank suddenly yelled behind me, but it was too late. A dark shape advanced on us from inside the doorway, and a bag was thrown over my head again. I could hear them doing the same to Frank too. Arms reached out and roughly pulled me inside....

While enjoying a summer day boating on Barmet Bay, Frank and Joe end up saving Mary Todd from downing. She was on her way to see their father, Fenton Hardy about the mysterious disappearance of her brother. While Fenton Hardy went to search for him, Frank and Joe discovered a few small details about the missing professor. Fenton Hardy returned after his unsuccessful search as the boys were heading to a camping trip with Chet and Biff to Honeycomb Caves.

Frank and Joe Hardy, sons of the world renowned detective Fenton Hardy, investigate a mysterious old house high on the cliffs above Barmet Bay when they are frightened off by a scream. During a storm they seek refuge in the house, only to return to their motorcycles' now empty tool boxes! The boys return to the apparently haunted house when they make a connection between the place and a smuggling case their father is working on. When their father goes missing, they have to investigate the caves beneath the house and confront the smugglers face to face.

While riding their motorcycles along the Shore Road, Frank and Joe Hardy, along with their pal Chet Morton, meet a local fisherman who has just had his car stolen. The three boys give chase, and further down the road find their chum, Jack Dodd, and his father being questioned by the police because a stolen car was found in their yard. The Hardy boys, of course, resolve to solve the case and clear their friend’s name, as many other auto thefts have also taken place recently.

I wanted to be a Hardy Boy, and I always had a crush on every version of Nancy Drew. While investigating a mysterious old house high on a cliff, Joe and Frank Hardy hear a scream and are scared away thinking the place might be haunted. Their dad has been hired by a pharmaceutical firm to find missing drug shipments and calls on the boys to help. He disappears at one point and his sons team up to rescue him from whatever happened. They made an extremely brave rescue of their dad from unscrupulous smugglers.

In this unabridged recording of the third original 1927 edition of the Hardy Boys Detective story The Secret of the Old Mill, brothers Frank and Joe Hardy exchange some one-dollar bills for a five-dollar bill with a stranger at the train station. Later, when they try to use the bill to buy some pie plates, they are told the five is a counterfeit! Frank’s girlfriend, Callie Shaw’s cousin Pollie, accepts a counterfeit fifty from a customer, and the Hardy Boys’ mother does the same when selling an old carpet!

The Hardy boys looked at one another regretfully. They had just received a letter from their father, Fenton Hardy, an internationally famous detective, who had been called West but a fortnight previous on a mysterious mission. The letter gave the boys their first inkling of the nature of the case that had summoned their father from Bayport, on the Atlantic coast, to the mining country of Montana.

Shore Road has a bunch of auto thefts outside Bayport, home territory of the Hardy Boys, Frank and Joe. They find out that one of their friends, Jack Dodd and his father, have been accused of the thefts. This bothers the lads because they feel certain there has been a big mistake and they intend to do something about it. As a result of their intentions and investigation the Hardy Boys wind up helping in capture of the actual car thieves who had framed and kidnapped their friends. It’s exciting listening as they work hard to aid the Dodds, father and son.

While Frank and Joe Hardy, sons of the world famous private detective Fenton Hardy, are out sailing with their friends in a couple of boats, a sudden large storm separates the group. While one boat turns back, Chet and Biff continue sailing out to sea and go missing. After the storm, Frank and Joe fear the worst when they look for their friends and find some boat wreckage. But then they receive a ransom note…. for themselves! Baldy Turk and his gang have kidnapped the wrong pair of boys! Frank and Joe are able to trace the gang to Blacksnake Island, but will they be able to free their friends?

Here is Book 6 in the exciting Hardy Boys Mystery series! Teenagers Joe and Frank Hardy had ample mental ability to reach conclusions and act accordingly. Some of that ability was handed down by their former police detective Fenton Hardy, and the overall concept was enhanced by their perceptive cleverness. If you want to be tense with excitement, here’s a chance. They discover a counterfeiting operation in an old mill, are trapped and face a struggle to escape. Eventually, they overcome the misdeeds and wind up with some of the phony money.
