About this listen
Unmask assassins. Empower allies. Challenge the Academy ranks.
Fresh off his victory, Shane ventures to the capital city of Rajak, eyes set on the Academy—the planet's most elite training ground for heroes. But prestige and power come with their own set of challenges. Barely settling in, Shane receives a chilling message from the Heartrippers, shadowy assassins with ties to a formidable cult.
His connection to the Wish Curse Palace drags him deeper into its treacherous underworld. While the academy's halls are a battleground of ambition and rivalry, the city's alleys hide darker secrets. Shane must weave through both worlds, racing against time to uncover and neutralize the looming threat against him.
In a city where everyone wears a mask, trust is rare and betrayal is a heartbeat away.
Shane's journey continues in book 2 of Wish Upon the Stars, a series featuring a weak to strong protagonist with limitless potential in a futuristic LitRPG setting featuring a crunchy, unique progression system. Perfect for fans of The Path of Ascension and He Who Fights with Monsters.

Story
An experimental ASI with a terminal case of curiosity reached out and tampered with the universe in a way that it should not have, and unleashed a torrent of energy we would call magic into our galaxy. Humans, and every other intelligent lifeform for that matter, were ill-prepared, physically and mentally, for such an eventuality. In an effort to save itself, the ASI hastily created something it called the Framework to shape and codify this magical energy, and usher in a new world. A world of classes, levels, and extraordinary power. But also a world of monsters.

Story
In a world where runes hold unimaginable power, mere mortal and gifted artisan Nate must harness arcane magic to navigate treacherous paths, reveal the hidden truths of his own past, and discover the workings of the illusive ‘System’. No big deal. Emboldened by only his penknife and a weirdly profound understanding of runic sorcery, Nate must uncover if the path he has been thrust upon may spare his earthly existence. After all, why only leave your mark on one world… when you might leave it on two?

Story
I used to be the greatest Earth Mage in my world. The head of the entire Order of Architects. But the older you get, the more you come to realize that at some point, you need to retire, so that you can have the chance to enjoy a peaceful life and to cede your place to the young, some of whom have already turned two thousand years old . . .So that's what I did. But I failed to account for one thing: during the course of my long life, I'd accumulated too many enemies, and they had decided to spoil my retirement. So they died along with me. And I hope their deaths were final. But mine was not!

However, when destiny takes an unexpected turn, Sen finds himself thrust into the role of a cultivator’s disciple. After all, why only leave your mark on one world… when you might leave it on two?

When Dana was killed and resurrected by a necromancer, she didn't know what to expect. She didn't expect to be handed a list of magical items that might cure her if she can find them. She definitely didn't expect the house succubus to come along to service her dangerous needs. And she definitely didn't expect to go head to head with an international organization dedicated to keeping magic out of human hands.

Story
Dhane kicked the bucket in spectacular fashion, every bone crushed, every organ popped against the full force of a 40-ton garbage truck speeding through a red light. The only part of him intact—whole—entirely unaffected by the grisly affair was his soul. Souls are durable things, you see, like kids: they bounce. And bounce he did, into the abyss between worlds, drifting until one excited soul watcher fished him out and found him a new home, a heaven for gamers and nerds and everything in between.

Still love the series, but...
Okay, I'm just gonna say it. We're playing fast and loose with the term "acceptable compensation". I'm still gonna keep up with the series, but we're losing a lot of believability if "a memory of this great meal I had" is equivalent to literally changing the fanfic of reality. I really like the team''s build but I hope the wishes go back to the feeling of importance they carried in the first book.

Fun idea but has a math issue
I really do enjoy the story enough to roll my eyes through the shortcomings and keep going. But I do want to rant to the author so that hopefully he can adjust it in the future... there's a major issue with the math in this. I'm not sure if he has the concept of what a 100 billion people would mean... That's not a bigger city That's like 13 planets worth of people, it wouldn't be a city It would just be an unending coverage of a ginormous planet... 100 million would be a ginormous city. Also why is there apparently no classes or teaching in a school at all. how is what's his face having to guess the answer is about merging with items, he should literally have professionals in that school that he could go and ask if he was not being taught from the get-go. it's like a school story without the school.
He also struggles with the balance of the system. I could see it coming but it definitely gets worse as a story goes on because a little issue starts snowballing as it becomes more complex. now that I can say it without spoilers, basically having the main character progress through the first level that takes most people apparently years is just ridiculous. But honestly the ridiculous part is outside of his wish power he's getting a handful of points at a time for doing little things. this is neither something earned through a hard work nor should it make it difficult for other people to progress. If you only need 100 points to progress the next level literally everybody who's not sitting on their butt should hit g rank within a year if not 6 months. Even five points a week they would hit it in less than 6 months. And so you have this supposedly powerful child of this guild leader who's only h rank, has been a hero long enough to be a mentor, yeah right. especially since it was pointed out in book one that Shadow-chick couldn't be his mentor because she hadn't been a hero long enough but she's been a hero for 6 years... Also with a skill progress, if a lesser skills is supposed to be above the peak of human ability it should take years of grueling practice. The way he presents cooking a couple dishes for a few weeks equaling a mastery beyond human level of cooking is absurd. His pre-existing swimming one too while he was "mortal" would have meant he was swimming 10 hours a day and was professional level... It doesn't make sense. When he traded for that piano skill that she barely used anymore it wouldn't have been lesser level you'd have to be the Mozart level to be lesser. anyway the math does not math and it's getting worse as the story goes on. If I were the author I would go back and re-edit the stories to have better continuity, otherwise that's the story progresses it's going to become more glaring. And also a lot of cultivation stories you have to actually work to get progress, this kid's like punching one robot and getting multiple points? That's not a hard system that's an easy breezy system. So either d-rank is where you start becoming above human level, or it's harder to get there... otherwise the system doesn't work. And to gain one point in might, when one point in might equals being able to lift a thousand pounds? In book one he punches one bad guy and got a might point. you would have to do intensive training with special powers just to progress one point. he keeps calling it cultivation but what he means is video game style, where you're still a beginner at level 10 and level 10 to 20 starts to become interesting where you're getting skill (G) but are still weak. Also 1% of the population is born with the ability of powers, but they extend your life if you do any practice at all with them, then the total population would have greater than 1% with powers because they would outlive the normals, also it seems like they genetically pass on their powers at a higher rate, so living a long time you would have more children than a normal. So while the birth rate might have 1%, it seems like the total population would have a higher percentage.

Enjoyed as much as the first
Still have the narrator set at 95% and that works for me, unusual since I quite often speed up the narration. This is a good series and I will definitely buy the next one when it comes out.

It’s good but……
The story is pretty cool. Character progression is decent. No real glaring issues, but only one, it’s so dang ol slow! There can be 2 big climactic fights or 2 main villains. But dang progress through a year at least. MC hasn’t even had a class yet! Come on! I hope the writer doesn’t write himself out of a story. It’s really good, new concept (for me) and it has legs to go places. It will be good just pick of the pace big dawg.

To much cursing.
Not to sound like the cap merica, but you're using cursing to much. I like your write it's really good and I absolutely love the MC and his powers, but all the f-bomb make him sound like a child getting away with cursing for the first time.
