About this listen

The first time I saw Saxton Crawford we were in high school. He was the football star and I was just another invisible teenage girl. Now, he is a famous quarterback and the bane of my existence. And by bane, I mean his presence has brought back 10 years of secrets. Ones I'd thought I'd dealt with.

The minute he walks back into my life I become that bumbling teenage girl all over again. I’m not having it! Even if the quarterback only has eyes for me. He's irresistible, too handsome for his own good, cocky, and carrying baggage no one wants.

Saxton Crawford has spent years trying to find his mystery girl. Turns out, I'm that girl. I guess I wasn't invisible after all. Bam! Happily ever after right? Nope, not for me. Not with his demons and mine. It’s going to take every ounce of my will power to resist him.

So, what would it take to get him to leave me alone? Do I want that? Maybe I should be asking myself..."What would it take to win his heart?"

What would it take.... for you to listen?

My first EL DuBois book and my experience with Sarah Sampino as narrator. I was not disappointed! The story was funny, realistic, and easy to follow. Sarah's narrating was spot on. I could tell who the different characters were based on her tone and subtle nuances. I look forward to reading more DuBois books and listening to others narrated by Sarah!

Can’t fight it

This love story is amazingly cute. I love the two main characters together. The geek in high school and the star football player. People overcoming their insecurities and coming together.

Sweet!

Sweet romance Saxton knows what he wants and Sailor know want she want but shes scared. Although she doesn't put up much fight when it comes to Saxton. There are a few bumps in the road before the can have their HEA. The narration was amazing. 🎧 AudioObsessions

Great Story!

I absolutely loved this wonderful romance story. Saxton could be every woman’s book boyfriend!! There’s quite a bit of suspense as you listen along—you’ll be wondering where and when Saxton’s ex will pop up and strike next. Sarah Sampino, the narrator of this story, did an excellent performance! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

What would it take

3.5 Stars rounded up.
Saxton and Sailor’s story was cute. Sometimes shorter books like this can seem a bit like instalove but the did have a bit of unrequited history from high school on both sides so that helped. Ten years later they come back into each other’s lives, he’s the new quarterback for the team she works for. And their attraction for each other is still as strong as ever. Unfortunately he has a psycho Ex that tries to get in their way.
This was ideal for a quick read/ listen on a Saturday morning while doing some work around the house. A sexy Hero QB, a bit of drama, a bit of heat. A great read.
And the narration by Sarah Sampino was perfect.

Super cute

Both the author and narrator are new for me and I really enjoyed the story and narration. Sarah was spot on and did perfect justice to both Saxton and Sailor’s characters and effortlessly performed both male and female characters and their emotions. I feel it’s hard for one narrator to do full justice to all the characters but Sarah really pulled it off. The story was fast paced with some twist and turns and was a perfect weekend listen. Definitely worth listening and I will be checking out more books narrated by Sarah and also by El Dubois.

Easy listening and sweet love

I really enjoyed this tale of what some would call fate, with a pshyco ex thrown in the mix. Sailor moved to a new school and got a crush on a boy who didn’t know she existed, but his girlfriend did. Making high school very hostile for her. Years later fate brings her back together with the man who doesn’t know her name. Can they overcome the past and future issues to forge a lasting relationship. I honestly want more. Sarah Sampino did a great job on the narration.

Great short story

This is a great short story by a simi new author to me. I loved the second chance for a first romance part of the book and how well Saxton and Sailor's chemistry flowed. As usual this narrator does a wonderful job, just like the rest of her work

What would it take to get you to listen?

A trailer for this audiobook grabbed my attention and I was immediately hooked! I don't often listen to sports romance, but this book wasn't gratuitously sportsy, it just happened to be part of the story and I absolutely loved it. Sarah Sampino really brought the story to life, it was amazing! I can't wait to hear/read more books by El DuBois and hear more of Sarah's work! ❤
