About this listen

It's 1984 and the only things on Prudence Pierce's mind are seducing her violin instructor and, with the help of her sister Deborah, avoiding the wrath of their mother for stepping out of the house dressed like Madonna. Her mother might also be a teensy bit angry about the medallion Pru swiped from the attic - a medallion that glows lime green and has an oddly hypnotic, holographic effect when Pru holds it in her hand.

A simple blink is all it takes to yank Pru from the car with her dad into a world of hurt. She awakens in 2305 to find herself pinned under what's left of CHRONOS headquarters, thanks to a recent terrorist attack. Their prime suspect? Her mother, Katherine Shaw. And everyone wants to know how Pru got her hands on a CHRONOS key.

Pru is convinced that the key is the answer to all her problems. She'll use it to stop her mother, fix her relationship with Deb, and even restore CHRONOS, so that her new friend Tate can return to the job he loves.

She can't do it alone, however. Fortunately, she finds Saul Rand, and he's more than willing to help.

great book

I enjoyed this one as much as I have all the others, you finally understand Pru really is not this bad person, she had a normal love hate relationship with her mom and adored her sister, and it was an accident, she had no idea what the amulet was for until it was too late.

Are you kidding me!

This series has intrigued me since book 1. Reading this novella brings a while other side to Pru's character and makes me more excited for book 3 that was released today! I have a feeling the story will go in directions I never even imagined. ....lots of twists are coming or way. ....I can't wait.

The reader is awesome and brings the books alive. I can't stop listening. ..

Truly awesome

Before I purchased this I thought how could this possibly matter in the grand scheme of things. After listening to Prudence’s side of the story, it very well could be the most important part of the entire series. I am so glad I got this. The narrator was excellent as always, the story cleared up so much for me, and now I truly can’t wait to get the next book in the series. A+ to Rysa Walker for this one.

Review of Time's Mirror

In this book we got to watch the other side unfold. Know I'm not sure who's in charge. Seeing it from Prudence's perspective made you think. I wonder if Saul is just crazy but not totally in charge. Can't wait for the final episode!

Get inside the mind of Prudence

This was a brilliant novella and a real treat for the Chronos fans. Who knew Pru could be such a sympathetic character? Written from the perspective of a teenage Prudence, we finally get to see what led to the crazy older ‘Mother Prudence’ from the previous books. This story follows her as she uses the key for the first time and travels to 2306. We get Pru’s perspective of how events unfold and the author makes her a very sympathetic character. You find yourself rooting for Prudence throughout the book. I only wish this was a longer listen - I found Prudence utterly fascinating.

Back Story Prudence

An interesting chapter in the Chronos Files saga. Here we learn that the story of Prudence is more convoluted than we thought. Just as in the earlier Time’s Echo, which gave us the missing information on Kiernan, this novella lets us in on Prue’s plight and the situation in the far future now that Chronos has been disbanded. As expected, time travel can get very complicated.

Kate Rudd gives us the voice of Prudence. It helps top make her into a sympathetic character hearing her words with Kate’s young voice.

A real mind bender!

This has been a fun and original series to read, and this particular book gives the perspective of a "bad guy" from the first couple of books, really deepening her character. I really don't like the casual portrayal of teen sex, even just by reference. I realize that this is first person and many 15 year-olds would feel just as she does, but many others do not, and it seems like their voices are missing from teen fiction. Kate Rudd does a nice job narrating. Many of the men sound the same, but each female character is quite distinct and often I knew who was talking even before it had been explained in the text. I look forward to seeing how this resolves itself in the next book!
