Publisher's summary

Sparrow “Ro” Meadowcroft is about to get the promotion she’s always dreamed of–curator of the museum where she works. She loves old things and the history that surrounds them, so when a patron leaves some items to the museum, Ro is eager to dig in.

The sword in the stone that comes with those items is clearly a joke. A well-made but obvious replica meant to be a conversation starter. Why anyone would think that belonged in the museum is beyond her, but she can’t resist taking a crack at it and finding out if she’s the chosen one.

And as it turns out...she is.

Very fun

Downside the ending is too abrupt - good story enjoyable. But even stories with sequels should end on a ending of sorts. This one didn’t.

Overall it was a great book

Overall it was a great book. I really love how Kristen Painter writes stories with older protagonists that aren’t so mature that I am embarrassed to listen to them with my children. There was a little bit of the story that was challenging for me to except (which is why the story only got four stars instead of five), but overall this was a very good book

When is book 2??

I fell hook, line and sinker!! Again, Ms Painter has created a world I would love to be able to visit. No spoilers from me at all, just suffice it to say that whoever she decides as the focus of her next book, will be a welcome addition. Sparrow, J.T.,Gabriel, Raphaella, Beatrice… Anyone of them would make a great book. As usual, she has intrigue, romance, flights of fancy, realism and , of course read by B. J. Harrison? What a treat!!

Love it and can't wait for more!!

Wow! Loved this!!
Intrigued right from the beginning, I loved the Aurthurian sword in stone spin with the Fae. Sparrow is a great character and this was a perfect start to a new series. Loved, loved the audiobook narrator!
I have sooo many questions now and need to know more!!! Can't wait for the next book!!

More adult fairytale than paranormal. I loved it!

Narration was like being read to by your grandfather. The characters were well rounded. The story, although good, is predictable, just like most fairytales. it was perfect for a carefree summer day doing house work and running errands.

A Soft, Gentle Tale … So Far

I was hooked on this book immediately. The characters are interesting and the setting is unusual. The performer’s voice augments the tone of the tale.

Kristen Painter does it again.

Kristen Painter does it again. This is a great start to another series. I must say that Kristen Painter for me is that author that I love all her books! Ro is an excellent charater. She is very relatable. This book is a great introduction to what I believe is going to be another great series. If you love a well written and entertaining paranormal book , you have to give this book a chance, Trust me you don't want to miss this book or series,
