About this listen

Ever wondered why you're feeling out of balance, stressed-out, sick, and exhausted but still can't sleep? Western medicine often ignores the underlying issues that can lead to fatigue, illness, and disease, but there is a way to revitalize your body and mind without drugs or dangerous side effects. Ayurveda, the "science of life", is a complete wellness system that includes all that we associate with medical care - prevention of disease, observation, diagnosis, and treatment - as well as self-care practices that are generally absent from Western medicine. This truly holistic approach considers not just diet, exercise, and genetics but also relationships, life purpose, finances, environment, and past experiences.

In this thorough and practical book, Michelle Fondin guides you gently through self-assessment questions designed to zero in on your needs and the best practices for addressing them, such as eating plans, addiction treatment, detoxification, and techniques for improving relationships. She outlines steps you can take, with minimal cost, to heal common ailments such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, excess weight, anxiety, and depression. These time-tested methods for body, mind, and spirit wellness offer benefits to anyone at any age.

It was ok, but title was misleading

I enjoyed listening to this book. I think it lacked information about Ayurveda, it had more information about personal growth and the writer's personal experience. The reason why I wanted to listen to this book was to learn more about Ayurveda and have more guidance as to what foods to eat, etc, but she only has one or two chapters on this. That being said she gives a good insight into what other life style choices people can make as to have a "better life", I found this ok, but a little boring, I am glad the book was short.

Informative

This was very informative and provides a basic understanding. It is worth reading/listening to. I would’ve liked the reader to read a little slower, listening to the book felt like running a marathon. The reader seemed to be
in a rush, in a busy world I prefer not to be rushed . It was hard to take notes. The information was helpful and I will integrate it in my daily lifestyle. However. if I did the whole plan as presented I think I would have to quit my job. When I eat and sleep is unfortunately to a degree dictated by my job.

This is a Workbook

If you could sum up The Wheel of Healing with Ayurveda in three words, what would they be?

You need to have a hard copy to follow along.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I didn't get there. If I did, I was asleep.

Would you be willing to try another one of Michelle S. Fondin’s performances?

Fran Drescher reading Tropic of Cancer would be more appealing to me personally.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

". ... DON'T forget your workbook!"

Poor recording

An AMAZING life changing book! Everyone should read it.
The recording skipped, screeched and cut out occasionally.

Poor sound quality.

It sounds like this book is being read under water once you get to chapter 4.

Slow Down

The content is interesting.Michelle’s voice is pleasant. However, she reads so fast it is difficult to follow and absorb the information. Over and again I am frustrated because I truly want to know and use this information. If you want this book, consider buying it in print.

Preaching to the choir

I purchased this book via Audible. Firstly, the author would have been well advised to have a professional narrator rather than narrate this herself. She doesn’t have a voice which lends itself to long listening. It only emphasizes further the overall sanctimonious and holier than thou overtone of the entire book. Furthermore, the book actually gives zero practical tips for the Ayurvedic lifestyle. It talks only in generalities, blanket statements, overly obvious concepts, cliches and never ever gives any solutions, after stating the societal problems, that, yes we are all well aware of. It’s like a never ending infomercial. I kept waiting for her to get to the point. I’m giving this two stars because I feel that perhaps deep down the author had good intentions for writing this book, however writing is not her forte... This sounded more like going for a walk with my friend and her ranting for hours and hours. Maybe the author simply needed a place to vent?
