About this listen

There are reasons we fear the night. Bill Ryder STILL isn’t one of them.

This omnibus edition contains the final four books of the best-selling Tome of Bill series.

Includes:

Goddamned Freaky Monsters (Book 5)

An ancient evil, the last remnant of a cult thought long dead, is about to cut a swath of destruction through the world not seen since biblical times. Bill Ryder’s only chance is to muster his friends and every last bit of attitude he can - because if he fails, Hell on Earth will become far more than just a corny saying.

Half a Prayer (Book 6)

Bill’s been branded a traitor by the vampire race. Now he finds himself fighting off enemies from all sides while warring with his feelings for the woman he loves. Talk about lousy timing for introspection. Bill must rise to the destiny he’s been trying to deny - because if he doesn’t, his love life will be the least of his worries.

The Wicked Dead (Book 7)

Ordered to storm the vampire stronghold in Boston, Bill must approach the doorstep of the invincible undead warlord he’s destined to face. If he stands tall and faces his fate, the world might just have a chance of surviving. If he fails, an unquenchable evil will destroy everything he knows and loves. Why can’t the end of the world ever be easy?

The Last Coven (Book 8)

A goddess returned, a war between primal powers, and a prophecy to fulfill. It’s finally time for Bill to master his powers, sort out his relationship woes, and figure out how to survive his date with destiny. Because if he can’t get his act together, the curtain will fall and mankind will be forever plunged into everlasting darkness.

Join Bill in these tales full of monsters, mayhem, and foul-mouthed laughs.

If you enjoy Jim Butcher, Shayne Silvers, or K.F. Breene then you're in for a bloody good time.

I love Bill, his merry bunch, and so will you!

I can't count the number of times I have listened to this collection since it's release and sung its praises, the previous one comprises books 1-4, plus Sally's Sunset Strip. I love them that much. Rick Gualtieri as writer and Christopher John Fetherolf as narrator (Trish McKinley for Sally's story) make for a fantastic combination. I just converted my boyfriend too (he just started volume 2 of Scary Dead Things and is loving and laughing every minute) , who doesn't generally fall in love with audio books though is a lifelong bibliophile. He's a gamer and I love sci-fi and fantasy television, this series is one of the first gifts of entertainment we've mutually enjoyed. Thank you Rick G and CJF!!!

Also I've recently delved into The Strange Days series continuing Bill's completely epic saga a few years later with the release and look forward to more there. Keep it up.
Pretty please? With sugar, whipped cream, a cherry and a drizzle of blood infused chocolate on top?!?! !

Whether you are a lover of good narration, snarky comedy, good character development, or sci-fi and fantasy, or some combination thereof ... This series delivers and truly satisfies, with or without blood drenching it. I promise you won't regret the purchase.

This is a great series and a wonderful listen. Bill and his group of misfits will be missed. I hope they come back soon.

Amazing compilation of all Books, all incredible!

-Having the 2nd Tome of Bill books 5-8 is fantastic. Really saves those credits

-All of the individual books are incredible,
--Goddamned Freak Monsters (5) picks up right after Bills rooftop fight with Sheila, we get to find out where he's been for the time he's been missing, we see more into the world of the draculas, and of course Bill manages to screw things up

--Half A Prayer (6) Bill is recruited into Pandora coven in Las Vegas for training with Sally & to help fight the Jahabish (rock monsters) Find out more about this by reading book 4.5 - Sunset Strip. This book is kind of split into 2 parts, the Pandora coven part & the meeting with the Dracs.
Memorable moment: Bill compelling Robert (Sheila’s new boyfriend) “you have erectile dysfunction”

--The Wicked Dead (7) Bill confronts his Dr Death personality and hopes to work with it to take down Vehyron the Destroyer. As well as any other enemies that may stand in his way. He truly starts to embrace who he is. There's lots of action in this book, and it progresses the overall story a lot. Really interesting

--The Last Coven (8) Bill & his entourage need to confront their biggest enemy, the white mother, unravel more mysteries and bring everything to an end.

The narration is still a little bit off, there are some irregularities with Bill’s voice as the different editions were clearly mixed together.
The voices of the Alma (Sasquatches are great)
The voice in particular of Francois is amazing. The French accent is like a cross between Monty Python & Blackadder inspired French characters.
All other characters are brilliant as well, it's literally only Bill's voice that is irregular due to different recorded versions I presume.

The style of writing is great! Of course many would believe it to be immature, but if you're not really a fan of sarcasm, dark humour or..any humour in fact... well this is probably not the book for you.
This is not a romance kind of vampire book, its a kicking ass kind of story with cultural references sprinkled throughout.
Awesome for me, and i'm sure for many others, but i guess its not for everyone.

I would highly recommend this book!

loved the series but...

loved the series but, hated the ending. I would still recommend but I'm also hoping against all odds that he writes more books into the series.

a bit juvenile, but right up my alley

a few mispronounced words and a bit of repetition in the writing. that said, the voice artist did a good job with the voices and the story was engaging. I particularly enjoyed the final epilogue - a nice little twist.

Comedy, Action, Adventure

I listened to the entire series, and what an adventure it was! Everything wrapped up nicely, and I'm very satisfied of its ending.
