About this listen

Drunk customers. Shoplifting raccoons. Otherworldly visitors. As night-shift clerk at the 24-hour gas station at the edge of town, Jack has pretty much seen it all.

That is, until his best friend reveals the body of a local politician hidden in the trunk of a car, setting off a chain of events with apocalyptic potential. Soon, Jack finds himself entangled in a supernatural conspiracy involving monster hunters, sociopaths, doomsday cultists, and...garden gnomes?

Armed with nothing but his wits, sarcasm, and alarming amounts of coffee, can Jack stay alive long enough to see another morning shift? Or will he, too, fall victim to the dark, ancient force infecting the dreams of everyone around him?

One thing’s for sure. He’s not getting paid enough for this.

Trippy! Well Worth A Listen.

This was like some strange amalgamation of Clerks and the Twilight Zone. The narrator’s matter-of-fact delivery as though all the strangeness was normal just added to the story. I couldn’t not listen, totally engrossed in finding out what happens next. Great story, great narration. I’m definitely adding this author to my ‘must have’ list and looking forward to the next several installments.

Best narration and best story

The writer and story are amazing the narration though turns his story into something that can turn a day into a minute I first listened to the story on creepy and loved the voice acting some voices changed and that's fine I did miss Jerry's accent but I can't complain and really really want the other volumes to be green lit. love to you all and thank you for making an amazing story.

Sucker for the Podcast

I thoroughly enjoyed the book overall. Having a semi-full cast for the characters is great to separate the characters easily. An having pulled from a few podcasts VAs is a plus for me personally.
My only complaints are; the story being a bit to wacky in my opinion. At times I was a bit lost on what was trying to be conveyed to me from the book. An overall story for book one, strictly O.K for me.

Just amazing

Creepypod was where I first heard about Tales from the Gas Station. I’ve since read just about everything and listened to MCP’s narrations of the books. But the cast from Creepypod really takes the cake. Jon Grilz as Jack and Owen McCuen as Jerry are just *chef’s kiss*. The rest of the cast are just as amazing. The music and sounds in this narration really just brings even more life into the story. Really hope that we’ll see theatrical versions of the rest of the series in the future!

Amazing story and narration!

After reading the series(three times) I can say with certainty that the creepy podcast gang does an amazing job capturing the character’s identity. I can’t imagine their voices any other way. They truly bring the characters and story to life.
Ever since finishing the books I dreamed that some day another audio book would be released with the creepypod cast. Now that dream has come true and I didn’t even have to beg, spam requests, or make a deal with the devil.

Literally signed up for audible the day this audio book became available. I can’t even imagine how good the next three volumes will be.
Thank you for continuously keeping in touch with your fans and producing solid content.

I love the narrator Jon Grilz!

After listening to this I was so excited to continue on in the series until I heard the other narrator on the remaining books. Why can't we hear it narrated by Jon Grilz like the first book? I really tried to get into book 2 but I honestly couldn't because that narrator. Bring back Jon!

Light horror, not heavy; GREAT narrator match.

First - we some to audible often times hoping for a great narrator match to story, characters, environment. This match up delivers. Jon Grilz captures the essance of Gas Station Jack.
Second - The book delivers well on myst points of the summary (the racoons were a little light), so you are getting what you think you are getting. Entertaining but light on the horror side (which is great, I don't think I'd like this if it went any deeper in that space than it did).

TTFN,
happy reader
