Acerca de esta escucha

Rosie collapsed on the Seattle sidewalk, alone, cold, and drenched in seawater.

Her head ached. Nothing seemed right. And her memory was little more than a fuzzy feeling of foreboding.

She knows two things…

One: She’s on an important mission.
Two: Never mix with the locals.

Injured and weary, Rosie knows that if she doesn’t get help, she may not be able to piece together the reason she's in 2018. Her gut says it’s vital. But if she trusts anyone, it could forever alter the timeline.

When tough, street-smart Carlos takes her under his wing…

…the adventure begins.

You’ll love this dystopian, post-apocalyptic series, because you'll stay up late into the night to see what happens next.

So many threads of time & details. Love the characters and twists. So thankful I purchased the set. Each book has you wanting to continue the story.

Box set is a must

I wasn’t sure what to expect going into The Collapse—especially when I saw it was a time travel story. That usually sends up a red flag for me; I tend to avoid anything that makes me do mental gymnastics just to follow the plot. But this one? It just flows. The time travel here isn’t a convoluted gimmick—it’s a narrative tool that lets you see the same events and people from different angles and understand each character’s unique perspective and motivation. That might sound like it could get repetitive, but it never does. It’s surprisingly easy to follow, and even more surprising in how well it works.

Yes, the core premise is far-fetched—but I really appreciated that the book doesn’t try to stretch itself across continents or spiral off into chaos theory. It stays focused on a small group of characters and just a couple of buildings in Seattle. That narrow scope is a real strength. Instead of endless exposition or sprawling global stakes, you get tight, character-driven storytelling that gradually widens out at a pace that makes sense.

If you’re skipping the blurb, here’s the gist: The Collapse follows a handful of people in the aftermath of a cataclysmic event. Something massive and world-changing has happened, and in the ruins of modern life, a limited form of time travel allows a few people to revisit times before the collapse and bring very small amounts of supplies back.

Penelope Wright’s narration is excellent. I have just finished her Queen Trials series and was happy to find another series where she narrates her own work.

Fantastic! Don't miss this!

YA is not my usual genre but this had a lovely sense of balance. Delightful mash-up of time travel/destopian/sifi/romance without the endless whining and pining… strong lead characters and unique situations. Enjoyable and a great buy for one credit. Look forward to the next series.

Very entertaining

You nailed Seattle! I was on the waterfront this week and I will never see it the same way again.

Such an amazing story, very original in this genre. Very intricate and nicely woven.

I loved these characters! Thank you so much for sharing them.

I’m intrigued to attempt to unravel the secret connection between this series and The Trials. I’m headed there straight away.

Is it weird to say I’m proud of you?

I am so grateful to have stumbled upon this truly amazing tale. The creative combination of all my favorite sci-fi/fantasy subgenres; time travel, dystopia, and post-apocalyptic are so well crafted. The characters are endearing and deep, their individual stories evoking feelings of heartbreak, triumph, love, despair, and gratitude. This tale stirred so much excitement and tasty tension, with it's adventure and unexpected twists and turns, I was loathe to have it end and leave such a rich universe. But, in my greedy little heart, to learn the fate of these people who I came to love. Thank you so much, Penelope Wright, for this literary gift. I look forward to your your future (punny) creations.

Absolutely Amazing Read/Listen

Most of the series is completely predictable after book one. They are also many inconsistencies within the story. I only finished it become I was out of credit.
