Publisher's summary

Introducing the special 10th anniversary omnibus edition of the entire America Falls series to date, Books 1-11!

In the middle of the holidays, a biological attack wreaks havoc on the U.S.

The virus is quick. Deadly. Unstoppable. The country is left in tatters.

For Isaac Race, it’s especially bitter. After the death of his parents and sister, he was just getting his life back on track - the weaponized virus changes all that.

Battered by the fresh deaths of his foster parents, but hardened by the year he’s endured, he emerges from the temporary safety of his home to seek out other survivors during the worst winter in years.

From the icy mountains of New Hampshire to the ravaged cities depopulated by the virus, follow Isaac and a cast of compelling characters as they embark on an epic journey, taking on not only the invaders, but other perils unleashed in the shattered landscape of post-America. Each book in the series builds on the last, revealing new dangers, unexpected allies and ruthless enemies in their fight for survival.

If you’re a fan of post-apocalyptic epics, be sure not to miss the America Falls Omnibus.

Kids always endure

Great story line. Some parts a little slow. But these kids really represent the true spirit of America. Absolutely worth the credit

Good but not Great

The narrator over all did a great job. the story on the other hand was kind of annoying so let's look at this, the survivors were any where lets say from 10-18 mostly. yet Luke who is I'll say probably 15-16 years of age is so smart and so well versed in Chinese military hardware he knows what a 25mm cannon is. He chooses a crossbow as his main weapon and with 2 days of practice is deadly accurate and oh he makes "arrows". I'm thinking author likes walking dead. That's the thing is the author makes little mistakes like calling a fully auto Chinese AK-47 an "assault weapon" a magazine a "clip" and a semi automatic pistol a "automatic pistol. Don't get me wrong I think that kids can learn to survive and are resourceful but this seems to be a stretch of them being badasses in less then 6 months without any type of training.

Literary disappointment

The story does have a good flow. In the understanding that this is fiction but functioning in the world of today I found this story disappointing. The author expects the reader to ignore quite a few truths of the natural world when it comes to weather and seasonal climate of a region, as well as lack of decoration of material such as food and fuel and ammunition as well as the lack of disease and health concerns that naturally occur in the world without healthcare. Let me end of this book. It seems like the author cannot decide whether he was going to make it about karate or gunfight. This is definitely more of a fluff book with no real quality literary integrity with the lack of investment into what apocalyptic world might be like and how the characters lives would be impacted. If I had been cleaning my kitchen when I chose to purchase this book, I would’ve given it a hard pass and moved onto something with a little more literary integrity and with a stronger character baseline. i’m surprised that this author wrote 11 of these short stories.
