About this listen

For innkeeper Holly White, Christmas time in Mistletoe, Maine, is the ultimate holiday gift. Business at the Reindeer Games Inn is booming, her wedding to Sheriff Evan Gray is nearly here, and the annual parade is about to begin. The town is lucky to have another gift this year with the state’s ballet company staying for several performances of The Nutcracker. But disaster strikes when Tiffany, the lead ballerina, shows up dead on a float during the parade, the Rat King’s mask nearby. Holly will have to spruce up her sleuthing skills if she wants to catch the killer before Christmas—and her wedding day.

Immediately, Holly discovers that Tiffany had more than a few secrets. She finds out that the star of the show had a super fan that no one knows anything about. And the show’s understudy slips some other intriguing information Holly’s way: not only was Tiffany secretly seeing someone romantically, but there seems to be more than one rat in this company. When Holly discovers a secret passage leading to Tiffany’s dressing room, with footprints leading out, she wonders if this is evidence of a secret lover—or a stalking killer.

With an impending snowstorm and the ballet company on the way out of town, Holly must act quickly if she wants to find the person responsible for this terrible murder. Will she be able to save Christmas—or will her investigation turn cold like the weather?

Love this series!!

My husband and I both have enjoyed this series. Lighthearted, funny, some mystery, and a bit of cozy wrapped up in 4 books. Hope to see another one come out and continue the much loved series.

Always a Great Christmassy Read

This series is always on my most anticipated list when I see another one is coming out and I had preordered this the second I saw that it was available to pre-order. After the third book being a flop for me, I was hesitant going into this one. That being said, I still think that this wasn't as good as the first two books in the series, but it was back to being a fun Christmas cozy read. I really enjoyed the ballet aspect of this book, especially because they were performing "The Nutcracker." I enjoyed all of the details and especially all of the descriptions of scrumptious Christmas treats. The mystery was just okay, and it was decently easy to pick out who was the culprit. But that's not always a bad thing and I was enjoying the ride. My only true complaint is that the ending was completely and ridiculously overdramatic and it took away from the reading experience as a whole for me.

Overall, I really enjoyed this one and am very hopeful for more books in the series. These are almost always a great Christmastime read.

I can’t wait for the next book

I have already put a reminder in phone when the next book is released. This series is a cozy mystery with laughter and love sprinkled in. She weaves a great tail that makes me sad when the book ends. How about a Christmas in July novel to hold us over?

Well worth the wait

I love the community of Mistletoe and how they all come together. Holly and Evan’s marriage was magical.

Creative, funny, sentimental!

Another fun read from Jacqueline Frost! I'll admit there were moments in this one when I kind of started to hate the main character and her puahiness.... 🙄 It was a bit over the top. But the creative, sentimental, fun ending really made up for it! Great characters and wonderful town development.

Mostly happy

I felt like the author just threw things in at the end the end the book. I don’t see how the killer in this book could even be a threat at the end. If this person was trying to kill me with what he/she had on hand, I would of laughed at that killer. It’s definitely not a book to figure out who done it. It’s like the author picks out the least likely person to be the killer and definitely didn’t figure out how this person would overcome someone let alone kill them. I was very disappointed with the ending.
