About this listen

She's about to fake-date the bad boy of Manhattan.

Seraphina Moretti is half in love with her best friend's brother. An arranged marriage is in her future, and the groom is not the object of her affection.

But then the devil of Wall Street whispers in her ear. Telling her to follow her heart, that the unrequited love she's feeling is reciprocated.

She just needs to use a ploy as old as time—jealousy.

Matteo De Lucci will use subterfuge to get what he wants. And what he wants is to prevent a union between two families that would make a powerful organization unstoppable.

The key was through Sera's affection for his business partner. Fake-dating Sera is the path to his endgame.

When the enemy makes a bold move, the lines between what is real and what is fake start to blur.

Sera begins to crave the man she shouldn't be falling for. And Matteo starts to get possessive over a woman who has feelings for another.

When all their families weigh in, marriage between them might be inevitable.

But would it be fake or real?

Scorned Heir is a standalone billionaire mafia romance.

Narration that brings a great story to life

I absolutely loooved the story when I read it, so when I heard the audio version was coming, I immediately pre-ordered and I am not sorry!

𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗮's story was very believable in that Matteo especially is not the "perfect hero". He makes mistakes but is quite stubborn until finally seeing the light & having to do a bit of grovelling.

I really enjoyed the twists - there are a few - that made this story that much more entertaining and the end.... satisfaction!

Now, as for the narration ... OH MY GAAAWWWD! 😍😍😍😍

𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐤𝐞 were nothing if not outstanding!!! But honestly, these 2 narrators are so freaking talented. Although it's a dual narration (versus duet), both narrated their own character as well as each other's exceptionally well, not to mention all the secondary characters. It was as if I was listening to an entire cast!! Definitely a case of bringing the book to life.

And uhmmm, I best not get into how growly and all alpha Mr Masters voice is ... just trust me when I say yuuup, you WANT to listen to this book. I repeat -> I.AM.NOT.SORRY 😏

soo then MMC was great butttt…

There are so many details of the family and enemies that I just got lost in. The romance part of the book but there was a lot of a “mafia minutia” that was hard to track.

potential

this story had so much potential and I loved the characters. it was missing something big. I couldn’t feel the chemistry at all until the bedroom scenes, that doesn’t make since. I felt this story wasn’t edited good enough, had lots of parts that didn’t matter to the story then when you (the reader) are lost and confused it didn’t explain enough or the foundation just wasn’t there. I hope this storyline gets better bc it has great potential. female narrator was good, male narrator was too stiff with his words at first but he got better. just needs more practice with connotations and emotions.

I adore mafia romance, so I was eager to listen to this one. Unfortunately, this book fell short in many areas, preventing me from truly embracing the story. The beginning with the main characters lacked chemistry. Additionally, an overwhelming influx of abrupt details and information bombarded the listener (reader), leaving those unfamiliar with the previous books completely lost.

❤︎︎ Furthermore, the female narrator's performance fell a bit flat, accentuating the already obvious absence of sparks between the protagonists. On the bright side, the male narrator was exceptional, but his voice only graced a handful of chapters.

❤︎︎ Overall, this book had some redeeming moments, but not enough to fully convince me. Still, I see potential and have purchased the next book in hopes that it will overshadow this one.
