TARGET FOR DEATH
When “Slim” Jim Kinslow drifted into San Lomah all he wanted to do was find a job stompin’ broncos. He sure didn’t want to get into a gunfight—hell, he didn’t even own a gun. But a few days after Jim started breaking colts for John Holcomb, four hardcases suddenly rode over the hill and Jim knew they hadn’t come to admire the view when they started filling the air with hot lead.
Someone wanted him out of town dead or alive, and when the same four gunslicks tried to turn him into buzzard meat on a dark trail several nights later he was sure of it. Jim didn’t know why anybody would want to stretch out his hide to dry, but there was only one way to find out, and that was to strap on a borrowed six-gun and ride to a showdown that would end in death or glory at the San Lomah Shootout.
