Gary is a master of business frameworks

This book is a robust course on business. You go through and get an understanding of the different aspects that make up a business, and once your company is ready to dive into a certain subject, you can mine a ton of gold from just one chapter that focuses on that topic. huge chapter is very rich in detailed and practical information that can be applied immediately.
The thing that would take this book up a notch is to have it narrated by Gary himself! But I think he's demonstrating some of the systems and processes that he teaches about by having others narrate. :)
I particularly liked the end of the book where it illustrated a sales sequence That someone can take a prospect through. implementing that alone could revolutionize a company.
And there were great insights early on about the competence of a team. As a CEO of a decade, I looked back at certain situations and found a lot of truth in that topic about competence.
And lastly, I really enjoyed the topic of the different aspects of process development. Just because you innovated the process doesn't mean you have to do the process. nor does it mean you have to manage the process. Knowing that there are different roles within a process is very liberating, because as the visionary it frees me up to just focus on my zone of genius and allow others to focus on theirs as it relates to building and executing on processes. Love it.

If you are someone that blazes through books and then doesn't use them after that, this one might not be for you. But if you are someone who reads books and uses them as a tool to improve your business and life, I don't know a place where you can find more value packed wisdom than this book.

A few gems buried in an ocean of basics

This would be better in physical format.
As a business owner, did I get one credit worth of value out of this book? Yes, but I felt like I had to fight for it.
it also contained several repeats of the same information tidbits and even a full repeat of one or two paragraphs at one point. Very offputting.

There were several solid points and I was able to extract ideas and action items BASED ON the content here, but little of what was actually detailed/explained was directly useful. upon review of my notes, most of my value and inspiration derived from this book was actually from the quotes of other authors and business leaders that were recorded herein.
Some entire sections felt like I was reading ChatGPT.
I ended up skipping some chapters because they felt like they were staying a lot of unnecessarily obvious thoughts, or only gave overly optimistic and unrealistic scenarios.
I ended up skipping almost all of the last quadrant of the book because it felt unnecessarily obvious and had little practical value.

The narrator also pronounced the word behemoth as if they had never seen the word in their life before… (bee-hi-moth)
