Hard to listen to

The story might have been ok with a different narrator. Her vocal characterizations were awful and i felt like i was listening to a babysitter telling me a bedtime story

Believable, True to Scripture, and Inspiring Story

I love Biblical fiction, but I also hate it when they don't follow the scriptural story line. Jill however did an amazing job at making this story accurate with scripture and shining a new prospective on the story we have heard a million times. I found myself connected with Miriam and understanding the life as a submitted woman of God who is finding her place even more beautiful. Jill also brought out several things I hadn't noticed in the scripture before, and I went back to read it more closely. I would definitely recommend reading this book!

Read very nicely

Followed scripture for the most part. But had trouble after Moses wife died finding scripture references. Ms. Smith made it a believable story.

Miriam's eye view

A nice novel in the eyes of Moses' sister Miriam. It expands on the story of Moses being found in the bulrushes. Nice plot

Interesting

I’m a Jill Eileen Scott fan but this was not my favorite. I liked the notes at the end that explain it’s not an easy story to write and it did prompt me to go back and read the story in the Bible which is great. The writing is good. Narration didn’t do it for me. Some voices had such a weird tone that didn’t fit well and God’s voice just sounded like the narrator cupped her mouth as she spoke which was awkward. The narration needed more work.

Liked it but…

Love the story even though it didn’t follow as the scriptures tell the story. The reader was not as good. Not my favorites of hers but it was good
