Multiple Mispronounced Names and Places Grated

I even double-checked my lifelong understanding of pronunciations with searching for "Hebrew pronunciation of _____" and found that, indeed, these narrators were slaughtering the names of people and places repeatedly (like calling Eli the high priest "Ellie", etc). Anyway, it was so frequent a problem I had to take off some stars on narration. Where are the production editors? Why are they not catching this? I have all the audio books by Connilyn Cossette, I believe, and did not enjoy this one as much as the others. Having said that. it was still worthwhile. I think my perception was probably tainted a bit by my irritation with the narrators.

A book that will help you grow closer to our Lord

I love listening to Connilyn Cossette’s books. This book caused me to feel like I was living during the time of the book of Judges. I have enjoyed all of her books!

Good read

I really enjoyed the story and the character development. Historical fiction really takes me to a different time and a different place.

Narrators were a Disaster

Good story. Too bad pros like Rachel Botchen don’t learn how to pronounce basic Biblical names. You can easily do so with a google search. I’m so insulted by her lack of care that I may not purchase audiobooks that she narrates anymore.
I highly recommend reading the book instead of listening to it.

Great Book!

Don’t pass up this series! It is a great and the author’s writing flow keeps you interested and waiting to find out what’s next throughout the entire book! Narrators are also great!

Eight years ago, 1070 BC, the Philistines captured the Ark of the Covenant and brought it into the city of Ashdod, throwing it at the feet of Dagon in triumph. However, at the Ark’s presence, the Philistines’ god is thrust to its knees and plagues wash over their land, forcing them to return their prize to the Israelites. At this time, Eliora and her brother, Natan, flee from their family home in Ashdod and follow the Ark of the Covenant into Israelite territory, where they are rescued by a Levite and adopted into Abinidab’s household, whose family was given the charge to protect the Ark.

As the Fall Feast approach and the Levites gather to celebrate, everyone is busy making preparations and organizing the gatherings that will take place. It’s a time to be joyful and festive, yet unrest stirs within the Levitical tribe as they argue over where the Ark of the Covenant should be kept and who is the rightful high priest. To Dwell Among Cedars spoke to my heart and moved me to praise the Father for all the testimonies He has given us. Though this is a story that will entertain, it will also be an inspiration to draw closer to our Creator and learn who He truly is! While thousands walk away from their faith each year, plagued with doubt, I have never been more convinced of Adonai’s realness and presence. Connilyn Cossette did an outstanding job of showing what true faith and servitude looks like, dealing with doubt and identity through protagonists we can all relate to. I loved how each character was given a chance to experience the Holy Spirit, though not everyone accepted this opportunity. Too many authors tend to stay in the New Testament, believing that personal relationships with the Father only began after Yeshua/Jesus’ resurrection, but that’s not true. God has been using His people since the beginning of creation, and Connilyn Cossette never fails to display this in her novels.

A wonderful tale with really nice characters, and plot. LOVED it and it is in my top 20 of biblical fiction. well developed. Excellent narration!

Just Lovely

Well over a year ago, I bought the audio book, “To Dwell Among Cedars”. However, I kept putting it aside and chose othe books to listen to. But recently I ran out of credits so started going through all of my library to see if anything I hadnt already listened to caught my eye. Well To Dwell Among Cedars did. I’m so glad it did 😃.

This book brings to life a part of the New Testament within a story of an orphans hardship, divine intervention and love. It brings to light how God used not only his chosen people but those of their enemies to bring about change and renewal - all through the spirit of a young woman.

Bringing to light the importance of women in Gods work, even in the Old Testament, is what Connilyn Cossette is cherished for. She does her research too, so her stories are based in Biblical truths.
