Acerca de esta escucha
People often think of Job sitting on the ash heap, his life in shambles. But how did he get there? What was Job's life like before tragedy struck? What did he think as his world came crashing down around him? And what was life like after God restored his wealth, health, and family?
Through painstaking research and a writer's creative mind, Mesu Andrews weaves an emotional and stirring account of this well-known story told through the eyes of the women who loved him. Drawing together the account of Job with those of Esau's tribe and Jacob's daughter Dinah, Love Amid the Ashes breathes life, romance, and passion into the classic biblical story of suffering and steadfast faith.

"You will be called Anippe, daughter of the Nile. Do you like it?" Without waiting for a reply, she pulls me into her squishy, round tummy for a hug. I’m trying not to cry. Pharaoh's daughters don't cry. When we make our way down the tiled hall, I try to stop at ummi Kiya's chamber. I know her spirit has flown, yet I long for one more moment. Lazarus occupies a surprising position in the Gospel accounts. Widely known as the man Jesus raised from the dead, his story is actually much broader and richer than that. Living as he did at Bethany, near Jerusalem, Lazarus was uniquely placed to witness the swirl of events around Jesus. When Jesus Wept, the first novel in The Jerusalem Chronicles series by best-selling authors Bodie and Brock Thoene, unfolds the turbulent times in Judea during Jesus' ministry, centering on the friendship between Jesus and Lazarus.

Amazing, thrilling, challenging!
This one is a nail- biter! I stayed up way too late several nights because I couldn’t stop listening. The story is heart wrenching; the characters emotionally powerful; the transformative power of their faith- challenging and inspiring. I loved the story though at times I just wanted to get past the agony! It really brought Jobs suffering to life! I really appreciate how Mesu takes the time to explain from where and how she accumulated her research and developed it into fiction while using as much fact and scripture as possible. What a gifted and inspiring author. I have just finished reading- listening to all of her novels. What a blessing!

Compelling Story of Faith and Trust
Most of us will struggle with doubts, shame, and regrets at some point in our lives. This book captivates the love that God has for us, forgiveness and redemption. The author does a phenomenal job of character development, and keeping you on this edge-of-your-seat as to what will happen next. I would highly recommend this book.

EXCELLENT!!!
Mesu Andrews is an excellent author. I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy this book about Job, since his story has so much suffering, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I found myself reading the scriptures to learn more. My only difficulty is following all the different characters names that are so similar in sound and unfamiliar to me. Thank You for all the effort that went into this wonderful work of Literature for us to enjoy and learn from.

A Blessing and Enjoyment
This book is one of those that all listeners to biblical fiction needs to obtain and enjoy. The power of a story in the life of so many biblical characters is delightful and enjoyable. The author has done great effort in her work in biblical research and historical study for The delight and joy of all those who take the time to read and prosper from it. Thank you so much for your effort and effectiveness.

Great story.
It was hard to follow the story breaks and i had to push the 30 second repeat often. The recording did not allow for transitions. Because it was such a good story, I pressed on, but it was difficult throughout.

I loved this story.
I will look for others by Mesu Andrews. I love biblical stories and even though fiction, I saw the Bible all through it. I will recommend to friends and family.

So interesting!
Biblical fiction is becoming a passion of mine. This story is unique because of how Andrews pieces together several accounts of Job’s story from various biblical books and a few non biblical accounts as well. She does not claim this version of the story to be fact, only a creative reimagining of this well known story. At the end of the day, biblical fiction always prompts me to read the bible and find out for myself the facts vs. the authors embellishments. Highly recommended read!

REALLY GOOD
Loved the story of Job but when I realized the author had made it with ALOT of fiction, turned me off a little, but as she explained how she come up with Jobs wife, what a great story!
