Manners & Monsters Collection is like Beer,an acquired taste you learn to love before you know it!

This author & story premise was new to me having been out of the reading world for almost 5 years I was hopeful the recorded books would satisfy my need to read again but I’ve found that some of my favorite types of books don’t translate to my personal taste while discovering trying new types of books do I used to read roughly a book a day then because of a side effect of medicine I can only read @ certain times of day, never @ night reading fast doesn’t translate to “ hearing fast” either I am not complaining it could be so much worse ant that brings me back to my review I loved the different style of period romance and fantasy sci-fi It would be great if the next 3 were turned into a boxed set as well the performer got on my nerves from time to time drawing out the S sound it’s not every time but when they’re grouped together it sounds like a box of snakes-not in an oh how scary way- but annoying If you are contemplating something a little different listen or read this collection I don’t think you’ll be disappointed other than you have pay for the last 3 separately but that’s real life for you Good Luck Tilly Wallace with whatever comes next

Monsters and Mannets

I loved it. I had to listen to it twice to get all the details and it kept me thoroughly intrigued. I wanted more. It seemed like it needed more

fun and lite

considering the subject matter i was expecting a faster pace and darker tone. and i feel the relationship was a little to obvious. but i like it just the way it is.

Obsessed!

This is one of my absolute favorites I've listened to on audible so far! Brilliant story, captivating characters, and fantastic narrator. I couldn't stop listening to it, and now that it's over I am left with an empty void in my life. Lol! I want more!

Such fun!

The combination of stories and mythologies was great fun. I also enjoyed the way the author wove the segments together

This is so much fun

I found this series on accident and it just caught my attention right from the start. The book says it's like Bridgerton meets Addams Family, but I must throw Sherlock in as well, especally with the way Hannah is treated in the first book.

I adore Hannah and that she is a strong female character while still being true to how a women of this time period would be. That the author doesn't shy away from how badly women were and are still treated is another point in this books favor, though some may wish to be careful of book three as there is triggering content there.

I was on the fence for Wycliff until about halfway through the third book. I still think Hannah should have hit him in the first book and I have an extrem dislike of his reaction to Hannah's secret in book two. but he very much redeems himself in book 3.

I can't wait to listen to the next three books.

LOVED IT! **Possible SPOILER**

I absolutely adored this story.

Hannah and Wycliff have a very slow romance that blooms, the title isn't called Manners and Monsters for nothing. With the reader forced to take a slower pace with these two, you get a great love story amongst all the decorum, protocol, and victorian era views. I am a lover of spicy romance so I was surprised I didn't get bored with their story, but I know why I didn't and that's because Tilly really shows the devil is in the details.

Hannah has a very delicate position, her parents are societal outcasts and she herself has a few secrets that add to the "Do not marry" list. When Wycliffe comes along they have a reluctant partnership to solve a murder - this is the base for the whole series. So we get the true - Enemies to Lovers - romance here as the two are forced to admit each other's strong suits and how they really complement each other as a couple.

They marry for mostly economic advantages, and we get to grow with their interactions and how neither party pushes a boundary without the other's consent - manners and all that. It's the warm feeling you get when you see someone who has followed all the rules and actually comes out ahead.

These two do a lot of growing together and have a solid support system. The stories are well formulated, have solid pacing, and have unique twists on the supernatural stories we have all grown up with. I really enjoyed it and am buying the next volume.
