Tilly Wallace
Grace Devine is a seamstress turned sleuth, trying to look after her family in 1920s New Zealand. This collection of heartwarming historical mysteries will send you on a unique Kiwi adventure.
1. Seams Like Murder. There are two things that can't talk: moving pictures and dead showgirls. Grace is poised to build her thriving dress design business but when a fashionable client is murdered, suspicion falls on Grace as the last person to see Agatha alive. Can Grace stitch together the clues before her life is torn apart?
2. Backstitched and Stabbed. The only thing worse than wet woolen togs, is a knife in the back. As the kiwi summer draws to a close, a family outing to the beach takes a deadly turn when a lifeless body washes up on shore. Grace and her friends must find the person responsible, before another life is lost to the same tide of violence that claimed the young man.
3. Gather the Anarchists. This royal visit is going to off with a bang Edward, the Prince of Wales, is about to step foot on Kiwi soil. Then a horrible accident and a dying man's last moments, draws Grace into a conspiracy to harm the royal. Can Grace save the prince, or will there be an explosive end to the royal visit?

The narrator is also different than with her other work, but perfect for this story. She helps to bring all the characters depth forward and is a pleasure to listen to.
Tilly’s talent for description never disappoints as she transports you to the time and places in her stories. One can easily see the surroundings, feel the cultural significance, and struggles of the times for many groups of people. She gives hope and kindness and opens one’s mind to more than what they have experienced in their own lives.
All her books are enchanting and this series is no different in that regard. Wonderful escapism, filled with true meaningful friendships and support. And, as always, a little magic.
Wish these would continue…
