About this listen

Are you tired of feeling like you have to check social media to find out what you’re supposed to think? Are you weary of the latest self-help books that promise to set you free but only imprison you with laundry lists of studies to consider, positive affirmations to recite, and Facebook groups to join?

We’ve all seen the memes that populate the internet: live your truth, follow your heart, you only have one life to live. They sound nice and positive. But what if these slogans are actually lies that unhinge us from reality and leave us anxious and exhausted? Another Gospel? author Alisa Childers invites you to examine modern lies that are disguised as truths in today’s culture. Everyday messages of peace, fulfillment, and empowerment swirl around social media. On the surface, they seem like sentiments of freedom and hope, but in reality, they are deeply deceptive.

In Live Your Truth and Other Lies, Alisa will help you to:

  • uncover the common lies repeated within progressive circles
  • hold on to the soul-restoring truths that God’s Word offers
  • be empowered to live the way your Creator designed you

Being the captain of your own destiny and striving to make your dreams a reality is a huge burden that you were never meant to bear. Discover true freedom instead.

better then I hoped

I was impressed by this book. I appreciate when a book is more concerned on sharing the truth then it is about trying to please people. I wish more book would be written with emphasis on the Word of God, and Truth. Especially in today's world where people are judged as bad if they don't become wishy washy in what is right and wrong.

Review of Live Your Truth and Other Lies

Very well done! Bravo, Bravo! The author Alisa has been through a few things and her understanding of the societal and cultural down-sliding is spot on and her open eyes to see those “catch phrases” of those dark principalities are unique as that also has been a understanding of mine. Those things cannot be taught that clarity comes from going through some intense life stuff .. well done

loved it! thank you alisa!

Thank you Alisa for clearly explaining so many lies that we believe as a culture. So many sound good that even as Christians we are taken in - "do not judge" "follow your heart" "you are enough". Alisa has done such a great job dissecting and defining these and other lies and showing the fallacy. Highly recommend!

The Cross

I think this would have to be named a must read for every new and growing Christian ✝️
It is so hard to catch every lie thrown our way in this life, but Alisa has done well to confront several in this book.
Again a must read.

Another Great Listen from a Favorite Author

I listened to and read Alisa’s first book “Another Gospel.” I learned about this book from a webinar where she was interviewed. I was excited to be notified the book had been released. When I hear someone say they are a Christian, rather than getting excited as I used to, I wonder what they mean by that. Childers does a good job explaining how to discern what is true and what isn’t. I appreciate her honesty about her own struggles. That makes her very relatable.

Another Awesome, to the point Book!!

Alisa does it again with a straight forward, to the point message in this new book. I love that she narrates the book herself, and her voice/tone are exciting and keeps my attention the entire time, as if listening to a podcast. For any Christian, this is a fantastic read and something we must understand!
