Great Story line.

I really enjoyed the story. it was very well executed. The timelines all met, with the History I had learned. I enjoyed it very much. I still had trouble, with the voice distinctions of some of the Characters.

King's Shadow

In the beginning, I had a hard time getting into it because it's very political as far as what was going on during that time. This is not necessarily a bad thing-- I just had a hard time paying attention. As I got into the book and the characters, I really enjoyed it and I learned a lot!

Dark But So Was Herod the Great

I enjoy this author very much & have picked out her series of books to listen to in sequence. I had a little problem with the back & forth voice volume between Herod & Salome, but finally adjusted.

Good book

Great historical events l love it so much I will recommend to everyone who ask

Interesting

Interesting story line. Historical fiction. It is something to think about to be alive during those days right before Jesus's birth.

Reminded me of a soap opera

I found this interesting once I finally got about chapter 14. I almost put it down before that due to the constant bickering, unrest, backstabbing, etc. it got much better after chapter 14 and the last few chapters were the best. it does give good insight to the facts that occurred during that time. I also prefer stories that have God or Jesus more prominent.

Favorite Author

I was so enthralled by the historical take on the bible. This is the fourth book in the series, to make a book out of the prophets kept me wanting more. Author is one of my favorite now and so are the Narrators. I search by author and also by narrators. If you enjoy the author, you have to also like the narrators.

Painful

Endless chapters of recitations of names, places, and historical events without first drawing the reader in by fleshing out the characters. The narration by Alice Jones was forced and harsh.
I nearly ditched the book several times. I've read all of Angela Hunt's books. This one lands squarely at the bottom of the list. Given the subject matter, and the usual caliber of her books, this could have been so much better.

The Salome voice…

I liked the story but the older voice was SO frustrating! Really loud then too quiet
plus other things. The story was good but the reader was way too dramatic
