About this listen

Now significantly revised with over 70 percent new material, this is the authoritative audio presentation of Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, which is taught and practiced around the world.

IFS reveals how the subpersonalities or parts of each individual's psyche relate to each other like members of a family, and how - just as in a family - polarization among parts can lead to emotional suffering. IFS originator Richard Schwartz and master clinician Martha Sweezy explain core concepts and provide practical guidelines for implementing IFS with clients who are struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, addiction, and other behavioral problems. They also address strategies for treating families and couples. IFS therapy is listed in SAMHSA's National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices.

Internal Family Systems Therapyis deftly narrated by Brian Arens, a listener favorite.

Parts

Inspires me to look inside.

I learned about the inner parts, and it’s such big tool to take away. Now I will begin to practice and learn more about myself.

Mind blowing

IFS is my theoretical approach to Counseling , so I am obviously biased. But of all IFS books out there, this one is no doubt a must read.

Complete IFS theory overview for practitioners.

Excellent and thorough resource for practitioners seeking IFS theory overview and application examples. Consider the book “No Bad Parts” for a more accessible intro/overview to the theory/practice (i.e. for non-practicing individuals interested in learning more.)

insightful book

Book was a great look into IFS Therapy and it's inner workings. I wish the last two chapters were flipped as one of them about it's place in the world is one you can skip, and the other has important insights about the therapy and a patient in IFS.

A very informative and thorough explanation of IFS therapy. Having gone through this mode of therapy my life has changed and I hope to be able to use this information to equip myself to better understand my parts

Trauma treatment

I like this book a lot and will continue to seek out more training on it. I will say it did seem like one section repeated but the information is so informative that it was helpful.
