Publisher's summary
What if I told you that my father is a vicious psychopath who created an entire network of criminals just to hunt down, terrorize, and kill my mother? What if I told you my mother and I have been running from him since I was 13-years-old, and no one will help us? What if I told you he hurts people just to make an example of what he would do to my mother if he caught her? What if I told you that I know about every crime he’s ever committed, that I even have a list of them all, and I am just waiting for the moment when I can expose him?
What if I told you that everything I just said was a complete and utter lie. I know it’s a lie…but the truth is so much worse.

Story
It was 1970 in a defeated Rhode Island fishing town. Vietnam and Nixon dominated the national news. Both the near and distant future looked bleak. But they were five inseparable high school friends with something incredible in common: an unwavering resolve to look after each other no matter what hell life threw at them. And they were on a mission. The plan was simple: Go off the grid before they turned 18 to avoid the draft. They’d sell some grass, stack some cash, then head west and start a commune. What could possibly go wrong?

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

This book is a serious gut punch. I hate the fact that something like this exists. You will not be able to unread this book. Stay away if you have any unresolved childhood trauma.
