About this listen

Meet the galaxy's unluckiest outlaws.

Carl Ramsey is an ex-Earth Navy fighter pilot turned con man. His ship, the Mobius, is home to a ragtag crew of misfits and refugees looking to score a big payday but more often just scratching to pay for fuel. The crew consists of his ex-wife (and pilot), a drunkard, four-handed mechanic, a xeno-predator with the disposition of a 120kg housecat, and the galaxy's most-wanted wizard.

Along the way, the Mobius crew crosses paths with the Black Ocean's vilest scum, from pirate fleets to criminal syndicates, and most law-abiding scum, including Earth Interstellar Enhanced Investigative Organization, ARGO high command, and the Convocation of Wizards.

Time and again, riches lie just out of reach, because for all the talents Carl Ramsey and his crew possess, they've also got an outlaw's greatest weakness: a conscience.

Galaxy Outlaws is a collection of all 16 Black Ocean missions chronicling the adventures of the starship Mobius and her crew, along with six short stories. This series is the perfect cure for the Firefly Season 2 blues. It's what you'd get if The Orville took place on Serenity, or if Star Wars had wizards instead of Jedi.

85+ Hours Of Grand Galactic Outlaw Hijinks!

And YOU think that you've got problems? --- Try having your three time ex-wife and former Marine as your ship's pilot, an oversized cat who's always looking for a fight as your security officer, a four handed alcoholic as your engineering officer trying to keep your patched together ship running, a naivete former priestess out to reform you and your crew of their evil ways, and the galaxies most notorious and wanted WIZARD as your not always so loyal crew who really don't take your position as Ship's Captain all that seriously. All as you just try to FINALLY latch onto that Big Payday while avoiding not only The Authorities, but the nefarious Major Corporations, Alien Empires, Crime Syndicates, Space Pirates, Wizard Assassins, and your own conman parents! = A Whole LOT of fun filled action packed adventures with a host of interesting characters in a very well imagined universe.
JS Morin has created one GREAT series, and Mikael Naramore does an EXCELLENT job of bringing it all to audible life!!!

DO NOT PASS THIS ONE UP!!!!

An Engaging Simple Read

What made the experience of listening to Galaxy Outlaws: The Complete Black Ocean Mobius Missions, 1-16.5 the most enjoyable?

I found this series to be a very enjoying, simple read. It has a nice scope of concept that I found very easy to engage with and very easy to listen to while I went about my usual responsibilities in life. That is something I really value in an audio book. While not as epic in scope as some other works out there for anyone who enjoyed Farscape or Serenity you will enjoy this omnibus. I have recommended this to my brothers and father.

What did you like best about this story?

What I enjoyed most was Mort! The magic system is pretty cool and his character development is great. He's kind of a barbarian Technomagus.

Have you listened to any of Mikael Naramore’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not listened to his other works.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

"Dark Magic, Dark Science and The Deep Astral..."

Wonderwork, and amazing voicing by the narrator.

I loved this saga, it was amazingly well written, and the voices the narrator comes up with are top notch. if you loved Firefly, you will love this book series.

Fun! Fun! Fun!

I was surprised I loved it so much. Good at making me want to empathise and identify with primary characters. Friends get in the way, but they can also save you from yourself theme.

The mystical Firefly Jedi Masters

I’m definitely looking forward to the next issue. Combined the author and narrator are a wonderful combination. I’m adding both to my search lists above anything else I can think of.

Wow, just wow!

There are few series that I have enjoyed as much as I have enjoyed this one. From the smooth talking Carl, to the pious Esper and the dastardly Mort. Major kudos to both J.S. Morin and Mikael Naramore for the creation of this universe and putting a voice to the various characters. For anyone reading this review, look no further. You want and need to listen to this series, it is definitely not one to miss out on.

Hooked from the get go, thirsting for more

It is hard to describe the feeling I am left with. Having finished the 85 hours makes me feel something akin to "having lost a good friend"

Mikael Naramore, you are amazing! At times I would be willing to bet money on the fact that this recording was a theater production with a full cast. You astound me and once I Finnish the rest of J.S Morin's work I might just download what ever you are involved in going forward.

A rock solid universe I can't wait to dive deeper into. The character are genuine and true to their motivations. I can't recall a single moment of "that does not make sence" having just completed the twinborn chronicles I thought this might be derivative of that work, but I ended up falling even harder for this series than twinborn.

All Disney needs to do is get Morin on as an executive producer for the future of Star Wars. Then I'll be a happy camper!

Absolutely perfect

Think Firefly but better in every way. This series is what i imagine would happen if you took the beloved Dragonlance characters and dropped them into a world of spaceships and a mature “Bobiverse”. I haven’t enjoyed a book series this much in a long time. The narration was exquisite, the writing was intelligent, witty, and never stooped to trite ideas or rote characters. New, fun, emotionally engaging, and an absolutely awesome deal for the price!
