Very entertaining

Great story, Kept me listening. Loved the narrators performance. Liked the deep male voice and loved the female narrator. So happy this was duet. Really made the story come alive. Really enjoyed this audiobook!

The BEST audiobook I’ve listened to in a LONG time!

These narrators knocked this massive book out of the park. Normally I speed up the narration of audiobooks because I’m also following along with the ebook and don’t need it to be at a slower speed. But man… 1.6x speed on this audiobook was the sweet spot for me. Christian Gilliand is so underrated and I hope this audiobook will get him the praise he deserves. Often male narrators have too deep of a voice for me.. or not deep enough. But his voice is so perfect. I would listen to him read his grocery list. The female narrator also did such a great job. They truly brought this book to life. I found myself wishing every audiobook was this good and took my time finishing this because I didn’t want it to end.

The story itself was also so good. It was beautifully written and I enjoyed watching it all come together. In the beginning of the book, the preface tells you that this is NOT the book to skim over anything and Lancet wasn’t lying!! You need to be 100% invested in the story or you will miss important information. It took me about 4 days to finish this when a book this size would normally take me 2-3 days. I still enjoyed every minute of it and cannot wait to read more of her books!

Pleasantly surprised

I didn’t know where the plot was going, there were twists after twists and after more things were being revealed, I was shocked because I did not expect THAT.

A unique fantasy

The story was great and overall I enjoyed it! The chapters don’t line up with the book so it was hard for me to find my place most of the time. Sometimes I had to relisten to some parts because I was confused or thought I missed something but then I ended up in the wrong chapter. Super difficult to navigate.

I felt all the emotions with this books! I was thoroughly entertained and didn’t want to stop listening at times!!!

Be prepared!

Be ready for a LONG book. The story itself is such an epic love story full of adventure and magic. This love story crosses time and space. I thought the Duet voices were outstanding. The writing is so visual and poetic. I enjoyed creating the worlds in my mind. I always chuckle when the intro page with the trigger warnings is LONG. Spice is at a 5 here. A couple times I gasped or said "no- not necessary" during those spicy scenes. Because this book- has some edge to the spice! I am not triggered or offended by much, but I was a little shocked at a few of the scenes. But, nothing that wrecked the book and they are easily skipped if you want (do people do that)? I found the story exquisite.

Must read!!!

I already knew this was a 5 star read for me because it was my first read of the year and it was and still is 5 ⭐️ this is one of my most anticipated audiobook releases of this year and it did not disappoint!!

If Fairydale already ruined you (in the best way), then this audiobook is about to dig the grave deeper.

The duet narration is everything. Rylee and Christian did AMAZING 🤩 Their voices feel like they are the characters—moody, haunted, seductive, and so perfectly matched to the gothic atmosphere of the story. Every word drips with emotion, tension, and that delicious darkness Veronica Lancet writes so well.

The pacing? Was Spot-on.
The transitions? Seamless.
The chemistry? Amazing 🤩

You feel the obsession. And by the time it ends, you're just sitting there wondering how long it’ll take to emotionally recover.

If you love dark romance, morally gray leads, and that slow-burn tension that hits just right—this audiobook is an experience, not just a listen.

Mind catching

It kept me intrigued through the whole book. I could not stop listening the whole way through.

Wow - just WOW

This book is so hard to review without giving away everything. I will say that it's 30+ hours and I DEVOURED it in 3 days. If I was awake and not working I was listening, it's a captivating love story that makes me feel like I'm seriously missing out on something. I would 1000% recommend if you love an epic love story with darker elements, witches, magic, several timelines, hot smut, and a good mystery.

Performance was just okay

The female narrator annoyed me with the way she enunciated her Ts. It was super distracting. I love a duet narration but the males voice was almost a whisper that I had to increase the volume then the female was screaming in my ear. The story was sort of lost on me because of it. Maybe I would have liked it better if not audio. Also, I’m just not into the kink at the end. Felt too close to monster smut. Not my style.
