Could not stop listening. Great story!

I actually grew up in this area of Texas and had never heard of this case! The story kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what would happen. Well written and narrated. 5 stars for sure!

the way the writer introduces the characters is amazing. The narrator really brought this book to life for me though.

Detail Made The Difference

This true story could have been “just the facts mam” and it would not have been special. The fact the author had done a great deal of research and then let the story unfold made this a special book.

Paired with TV dramas

I enjoyed the TV dramas and decided to listen to this audio. It was a nice companion. Confirmed things in the movies and filled in additional blanks about the characters

Well told

I really liked the style of how this book was written. I’m not sure that everybody would agree with me, but I felt like the way the book was ordered as far as sequence of events was done very well. I’m not always a fan of skipping back-and-forth, but I thought in this case it made sense, and added to the telling of what happened.

Not bad for a free ( Audible Plus) book.
Narrator talked really fast, but slowing it down to 0.9 made the listening experience better.

Detailed Account of Candy Montgomery’s Crime

I enjoyed the structure of the book. There’s enough evidence presented to allow a reader to form their own opinion before the authors use the last chapter to leave their own assumption.

Nice thorough story of the crime that shook Texas in 1980. Narration was good also. Very easy to listen to as well as addictive.
