About this listen

A young warrior risks his life and soul to develop his arcane knowledge—and destructive power—in this dark fantasy adventure.

Zeke Blackwood wields immeasurable power. A half-human, half-demon Cambion, he has fought his way through the Eternal Realm, becoming a legend in the process. A liberator of slaves and the leader of an army of loyal kobolds, he reluctantly takes on the responsibility of protecting those who've sworn to fight at his side, even as his other allies remain lost to him.

Talia Nightingale has joined her undead brethren in the Deathguard, investigating a series of murders most foul. The alchemist Tucker lives among the Kirran, a race of dragonkin in desperate need of a potion to cure a wicked curse. And Abby, the woman Zeke once loved and who betrayed them all, has found purpose as the inquisitor for the Radiant Host, a cult of Sun Goddess worshippers seeking to cleanse the land of the impure.

But Zeke's closest companions are soul-bonded to him: the bearkin Pudge and the demonic mind spirit Eveline. One shares his feelings; the other reads his thoughts. But neither influences him as much as his dual nature, divided between empathy for others and an insatiable lust for dominion. And with every monster he slays, the more power he accrues, forcing him to confront the darkness that lies in own heart . . .

The seventh volume of the hit LitRPG fantasy series—with more than a million views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

Love the characters adventures

All the characters own adventures and growth was fantastic except for Abby all my homies hate Abby! I will never respect her way to gain power she just seems pathetic as a person through and through!

Fun and Simple

Book 7 doesn’t progress the plot much but it features powers and fights aplenty. Looking forward to the next!

Not as good.

This one was just ok. I hate the splintered points of view. I prefer a book that follows just the MC point of view. I absolutely despise the mind spirit. So much so that if It keeps being around I may be done.

Get Off the Pot!

You get one more book out of me. I need the story to actually progress. The last 10 hours were a slog. I enjoy the characters but we need to come back together and do something. Anything! Please!

Still a great book.

This book was still a great one, not as phenomenal as the previous progression wasn’t as good as I’d like in the story in the characters yes, but not in the story itself. I still enjoyed it and at some point I’ll end up listening to it again, I do recommend italso if this is your jam, I recommend you check out the two week curse” that is also a great series

I like this story but could have skipped this one

Very little progression of the story. The worst part is the mind spirit constantly berating the MC. Most fights are very similar, he wears himself out then about to unleash his biggest attack and then the sorcerer saves them all.

More than half of the book is a dungeon. Abby still sucks, Tucker is still not very interesting, Tally is still dead.

Disappointing

This use to be one of my favorite series but it’s getting worst every book. We got hooked on these books after following the main character in his friends through adventures. There used to be a great camaraderie among the characters and the progression of the main character was great. This book is almost 17 hours of listening, and for some reason they keep giving chapters to people who aren’t even in this group anymore. Also, now they’ve added a demon in Zekes mind that never shuts up and ends up being very annoying. Just really wish this series would go back to the basics.

Annoying

That mind spirit is horrible. It’s like the replace Abby with someone more annoying than her. Zeke can’t finish a thought or an opinion with her interruption. Also kinda of tired of Zeke being the butt of jokes but never responds back with any jokes of his own.
