The story falls chronologically after Sanctuary and is novel 15 within the Remaining Universe. Excellent, as always

I truly enjoyed this story. very intense and fast paced. I am always sad when a D. J. Molles story ends. Never disappointed, I just want more. I always look forward to his stories, not just this series, but all of his works! The narrator really always makes the story better. I don't see how anyone would not be entertained.

This. Book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lee and team are dropped into the middle of a ticking time bomb. They fight their way in, fight their way out, lose faith in yet another leader and lose one of their own. The action never lets up, yet DJ Molles creates a quiet moment of goodbye in the middle of chaos. If you follow Lee Hardin, this is the most suspenseful and fast-paced of the series. If you don’t follow Lee Hardin, you don’t know what you’re missing.

Incredible story of adaptation and perseverance.

First of all, DJ Molles has quickly become my favorite author, and Lee Hardin and crew my favorite characters. This story is riveting and emotional for fans who have followed this series from the beginning. I have developed a bond with its characters, and could read about them for years and years to come. Packed with action, laugh out loud moments, and nerve racking dread, I could not let go of this story from the second it started, and will likely dive into it again soon. Keep them coming Mr. Molles, your fans will read them.

One of the most emotionally impactful books in this universe, and it hit it’s mark on every turn.

Damn Good!

DJ Molles has written yet another ridiculously good story.

There’s enough background context given early in the story that you could listen to this as a stand alone, but it does contain some history that would spoil some of the other books a bit if you end up reading them later. You could start at the very beginning of the Remaining series, or start with The Valley for this portion of the plot line, then read the original books as a sort of prequel. Either way, you won’t regret it if you’re a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction. I’ve read and listened to many dozens of books in the genre and DJ Molles’s The Remaining books are definitely the absolute best, with the *possible* exception of The Stand by Stephen King, which I’d say comes close.

Outstanding

Another outstanding book in the series. Hope they don’t stop, and already can’t wait for the next.

Twists and Suprises

Even after all these years and all these books. D.J. Molles can still keep us hooked and asking for more after each book even after the suprise that happened to a series long character in this one.

Another one…

that will be listened to multiple times (through the original series 4 times now). Christian’s ability to bring the world to life mixed with the impact what’s happening in the story (no spoilers), it’s enough to make me stop what I’m doing while listening and just soak in the gravity of moments.

Renewing and crushing

Once again, I couldn’t stop listening. I caught myself gasping, pacing and crying at the end. So well written, so well voiced! I love how technically correct so many of the battle scenes are! DJ Molles really puts in the effort to keep the reader in the moment. I felt the highs and really felt the lows. Crying at the end and then smiling as I can only imagine what comes next with Lee and Abe. I’m ready for them to take on the world.

Best series ever, if you haven’t read them start from the beginning, it will quickly become one of your favorites
