About this listen

You were born alone.

You will live alone.

You will die alone.

This is the burden of the assassin.

A master assassin craves one thing above all else: a normal everyday life.

Trained to be a killer from the age of 11, Peter has never known the things the average person takes for granted. He has always been an asset.

Burned by the CIA and now occupying their secret hit list, he works overseas as a Ronin, living a solitary life in hiding.

But someone knows where he is.

A strange man arrives at his door offering Peter the chance of a real life. "Get this done and you can be free," he is told.

All he has to do is complete a three-name kill list in one month. Make it look like a series of unfortunate accidents.

What could be so complicated about that?

I Enjoyed the characters very much. The narrator was also very good for this character. On to the next book.

A Mix between Orphan X and Jason Bourne

Hi read both orphan ex, and Victor the assassin books. I was very surprised by the distinct and very individual voice this author has found! I thoroughly enjoyed the book! I was skeptical to buy it at first, but thought what the heck and I am so glad I did. Since I have already finished all Orphan X and Victor, the assassin, I now have a new series to start just in time. I can’t wait to see what he does with Michael!

Skeptical at first, but now a believer!

Lengthy story setup, but once that was done the action was fast-paced. The stream of bad guys seemed never ending but the hero’s super-human abilities always prevailed. The narrator was outstanding.

Strange storyline

I feared it was an orphan x clone, and while there are similarities the author has his own distinct voice. It was a wonderful listen

I was skeptical- but it was great

Great storyline with unexpected twists. I am very happy with this production. First I have read from these authors and I will be searching for more.

I really like this but some of the descriptions are graphic, but OK, and some of the people you like die, kind of sad--but it makes it more interesting and I love the story.

This is a great series but......

4.5 Stars ⭐️

This was a really fun new series that I am going to be excited about all the books still left to read. This book introduces us to Peter Black, a boy that was literally "taken" at a young age and dumped into a crazy assassin training camp in the middle of nowhere Alaska to learn to kill for the CIA.

It did remind me a little bit of another of my favorite series' - The Orphan X series - but only in the fact that these men were not given a choice and were robbed of a childhood.

This series has action, drama, intrigue, and a whole lot more.

I listened to this on audio and the narration of Adam Grupper was done well.

I will definitely be moving on to book 2 :)

What a great new series!

Enjoying it so far. There's a little bit of Orphan X. A little bit of Rhythm Section. Some John Rain. Some Jack Reacher. Some Jason Bourne. Some Gray Man.

Pays homage to most of the good assassin novels
