About this listen

When I get a once-in-a-lifetime chance to go on a luxury space cruise, I jump at it.

This cruise is the beginning of something amazing, and nothing is going to stop me from going.

But when things go wrong shortly after departure, it’s clear I have made a mistake.

Suddenly thrown into a world where I have no way of defending myself, the last thing I expect is an Atari warrior coming to my rescue.

This cruise has been full of surprises…but the Atari is the biggest one of all.

He’s tall, growly, possessive, and he sends my pulse into overdrive with just the slightest look.

Why the heck is my body reacting this way to this stranger?

And did he just declare that I am his mate?

Claiming His Mate is a steamy, standalone, sci-fi alien romance intended for mature listeners.

What to Expect: Possessive ‘kill you if you harm my mate’ vibes, a strong heroine who doesn’t let her disability hinder her, a hero that’s good with his tools, danger, suspense, emotion, tension (lots of it), chemistry, flaming hot steamy scenes, fated mates, and a guaranteed HEA.

A version of this story was previously published in the Claimed Among the Stars Anthology. This extended version includes 30K words more of story and fun.

Not much

Narrator didn’t have much going for her. Story was weak & too short. Couldn’t untangle the two characters - not able to tell male from female.

Decent story

Similar story to many others in this genre, but still fun. Frustrating misunderstanding between main characters with painful lack of communication that is a bit over the top. A fun listen overall.

The Same and Yet Different

This is a familiar plot but with enough differences to be interesting. I really loved the fact that the h was handicapped and the H couldn't have cared less. He was crazy about her. Really great world building and minor characters too!

Overall good

I liked the premise of the story. It was a little brutal at the beginning. It still pulled me in and I liked the variety of heroines. I am beginning to realize that a lot of these heroines have little to no self esteem. It’s a frustrating trope that drags the story for me. Self esteem would have little to no bearing on anything if you were a person surviving alone in an entire universe and yet it’s a consistently used storyline 😩. No one in survival mode is that magnanimous. But ok. Outside of that, it was a good story.

Good start to the series

Overall, enjoyable. The story is a bit shallow and there’s not a lot of character development, but it’s a good introduction to the series and it looks like the next books are more highly rated. I can’t wait for them! The narrator gave a solid performance, particularly for the heroin’s chapters. I would have preferred the male’s chapters to have been read by a man. I feel like these are pretty minor critiques and I’d recommend for a pretty quick read (listen).

A.G. Wilde is a fave

This author writes feel good alien romances with a bit of smut involved. The heroes are always totally into their strong lead heroines.

overall really good

I'll agree with other reviews that this is very well tred territory, but it has enough differences to make it interesting. It is shallow at times and the trope of lovers miscommunicating is very much there, but it helps color in the world building of cultures colliding.

I thought the narration was good and better than most, but I agree that a dual or duet narration may have been a better option. The next book has a different narrator so I'm hoping the voice acting quality continues through the series at the very least.
