A great story from a Slime's POV

Wasn't sure what to expect when I started listening, but the story was wonderfully written. The Narration had also been well done and gave life to the characters.

A unique view point

An interesting & unique view point. I enjoyed this story.
In world of warcraft, the ooz was more of an annoyance then a monster to be scared of...
This stories is an easy listen with many cool 😎 moments, like the blood 🩸 assassins.

Love this

Enjoy the character building and how jelly the ooze to the princess evolves over time. Look forward to seeing how much stronger he will become.

Fun read

I heard a lot of chatter about this book on Reddit and was waiting and hoping that it would make its way to audible. I'm glad to see it here on the site. The book is good fun and I will definitely be checking out the rest of the series. This book is kid friendly which may be a pro or a con depending on your preferences. the story is very creative and unique. Works by Benjamin Medrano (Adult) or perhaps Dakota Krout are similar but only very loosely.

Refreshing and heartwarming

Ian Rodgers, explain to me exactly how you ended up making me care about a sentient puddle of jello? In all seriousness though this book is about as light hearted of a book you could get that includes things like murder plots and magical monsters. Written from the perspective of the sentient ooze creatively named jelly it follows him as he grows and dose his best to protect his owner. Honestly I expected at some point for there to be a divide between the two of them or a misunderstanding but the bond they forge blows those ideas out of the water and it is refreshing. The only real gripe I have is that the voice of the protagonist is a bit grating at times, but as he is just under a year old I am hoping he grows out of the exaggerated young voice thing. Long story short, while this isn't lord of the rings or a bloodbath like a game of thrones book I cant say that I didn't enjoy the heck out of this book and cant wait to binge the next volume.

Very basic story

This was very basic and tame. The characters were all very one note and the conflict was inconsequential. Narrator did a good job with what he had. The whole thing was overly cutesy and self congratulatory with how cute the children are and how wholesome the main family was. Story was very meh. I suppose it is aimed at children but there are kids books with more substance than this.

a good book for young children

the book is good enough for children but not much more than that. the writing often uses words that don't fit the setting particularly well.

the bullet points for the plot could be interesting however the execution is... ham fisted

edit: the entire church and fair scenes should have never made it to publish. let alone narration. it's an exposition dump the things the main character should know at this point. additionally it's things that the characters around him should have been acting with the knowledge of. apparently literally no one in the castle is devout enough to ever even spoken the names of their deities. or talked of their currency. and the way that works is pretty bad too.
this was a three-star review until these scenes. it might be two star again by the end of the book
