Publisher's summary

The fascinating never-before-told-in-full story of personal reinvention grounded in musical salvation and fatherhood.

Travis Barker's soul-baring memoir chronicles the highlights and lowlights of the renowned drummer's art and his life, including the harrowing plane crash that nearly killed him and his traumatic road to recovery. After breaking out as the acclaimed drummer of the multiplatinum punk band Blink-182, everything changed for Travis Barker. But the dark side of rock stardom took its toll: His marriage, chronicled for an MTV reality show, fell apart. Constant touring concealed a serious drug addiction. A reckoning did not truly come until he was forced to face mortality: His life nearly ended in a horrifying plane crash, and then his close friend, collaborator, and fellow crash survivor, DJ AM, died of an overdose.

In this blunt, driving memoir, Barker ruminates on rock stardom, fatherhood, death, loss, and redemption, sharing stories shaped by decades' worth of hard-earned insights. His pulsating memoir is as energetic as his acclaimed beats. It brings to a close the first chapters of a well-lived life, inspiring listeners to follow the rhythms of their own hearts and find meaning in their lives.

Amazing!!! One man that survivors everything!!

I've known Travis Barker since a little before +44; when I landed a job at Island Def Jam records; Fall Out Boy was the act they sent me on! Opening was +44
He's so nice. This book just devastates me after receiving the phone call from everyone asking if I knew if he was okay. Man; I am so proud of you travis.

Travis' book is better than I ever expected

I love reading autobiographies. I read about 3-5 of them a month. I wasn't expecting to love this one so much. Travis Barker has had one of the most fascinating lives I have ever read about.

Amazing

It’s so raw, he didn’t hold back. It was something good to listen to while I got ready or drove to work. Definitely recommend!

review

I did not like the narrator. Sometimes he spoke as Travis and other times in 3rd person. This could be confusing.

Best auto biography I've ever heard

This started a little slow but after awhile, I couldn't stop listening. I learned so much about how he drums the way he does and how crazy his life has been. Highly recommend

Who Knew?

This book revealed that there is so much more to Travis Barker than merely being an immensely talented drummer. Travis’ deep committment and love for his children, friends and family, along with his candor about even the ‘messy’ parts of his life, really blew me away.
