Acerca de esta escucha

As lead singer and songwriter for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Anthony Kiedis has lived life on the razor's edge. Much has been written about him, but until now we've only had his songs as clues to his experience from the inside. In Scar Tissue, Kiedis proves himself to be as compelling a memoirist as he is a lyricist, giving us a searingly honest account of the life from which his music has evolved.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are that rare breed of rock band: critically lauded and popularly embraced by millions of fans, their albums consistently sell into the stratosphere—their CD Californication sold over 13 million copies alone.

Now, in Scar Tissue, Anthony Kiedis defies the rock star clichés. In his telling, we can see everything he has done has been part of a passionate journey. Kiedis is a man "in love with everything"—the darkness, the death, the disease. Even his descent into drug addiction was a part of that journey; another element that he has transformed into art. Scar Tissue is a fascinating account of a fast-lane life, addiction, and a moving story of eventual recovery and redemption.

Long time RHCP fan. An interesting story but the narration is the worst I've listened too. Poor quality recording, narrators voice is shaky and tries to give all characters different voices but it doesn't work. Hearing pages being turned as he reads is poor sound editing as well. Great story on the development of a great band.

Good story. Awful narration.

The narrator is awesome he really brought the book to life . As for Anthony’s story it’s raw and honest and I identified with much of it. The drawbacks, if any, is he’s an LA guy so every groupie he ever had sex with is a “magical sea nymph “ or some other California term😃 it’s a great book and it’s worth your time.

Great Book

I thought the story was Amazing!!! I wish Anthony would have read it though, I didn't care for Rider Strong.. his imitations were annoying

Great autobiography. I wish there was a way to get the authors to narrate the book. that would be awesome.

this was an awesome book! from his high school day, to his addictions, to band members coming in and out, and still coming out on top at the end

what a great story from a true rockstar

This is a great story and I recommend it. However, a lot of the writing seems pretentious and contrived. The co-author is the issue here, I think. The narrator isn't the best either but if you can make it past those two issues, there are some great stories in this book.

Great story about the struggle of addiction

Omg. This is my first rock biography, i'm 1:14 in and obsessed. Easy to visualize, and funny. Tony's early years seem like a blast compared to my suburban upbringing - I totally blame the (crazy) older generations for taking all the fun which led to all the rules that we have now. Great detail, you can really see how he came to be who he is today. And Rider is an awesome narrator, his female voice is HILARIOUS.

Californication

Enjoyed learning back story to many songs.
Hard to read about Anthonys struggle. I do hope he can overcome. Buster Rocks and Rules!!
I think this needed AK s narration to make it more personal.

Swansong

it was nice to have someone that has had a lot of success show us their Human Side and how real the Battle of addiction is. I wanted to scream from time to time AK stop doing drugs. and that's coming from an addict also.

phenomenal story.
