Publisher's summary

Pulse-pounding action, paranormal detectives, and laugh-out-loud-embarrass-yourself-in-public humor, what's not to like? Delve into a world where supernatural crimes are investigated by one man standing alone to protect those that call on him. In the brooding, dark landscape of England, with its rolling hills and forgotten castles, the dark breeds evil in every shadow. With millions of pages read and thousands of books sold, the Tempest Michaels paranormal investigation series will grip you from the start and rob you of sleep as you continue turning pages until well after your bedtime. It is action-packed, but funny, fast-paced yet intriguing and there are 13 stories already published. Get 5 more excitement-filled stories in this omnibus edition and save a pile against buying them individually. Bloodlust Blonde – Jane Butterworth doesn’t believe in normal, but then she used to be a vampire, and she works at a paranormal investigation agency. Oh, and she’s a boy. When a name from her past suddenly surfaces, Jane knows that she is the only one who could solve the case. Her client has a time-sensitive problem – she was bitten by a vampire last night and swears she can feel her canines growing. With no time to lose and a boyfriend at home making dinner, Jane begins a race against time to save the client and stop the transformation. Cross-dressing isn’t always glamorous. Paws of the Yeti – When he is called to investigate a Yeti attack in the French Alps, Tempest Michaels is certain it will just be another fool in a costume - He’s going to solve the case in five minutes and spend a few days skiing. Yay! Guess again. The mountain, the locals, and above all, the Yeti, have other plans in mind. Under a Blue Moon - When a newspaper ad typo sends all manner of daft paranormal enquiries his way, P.I. Tempest Michaels has no sense of the trouble and danger heading his way. In no time at all, he has multiple cases to investigate, but it’s all ridiculous nonsense like minor celebrity Richard Claythorn, who believes he is being stalked by a werewolf and a shopkeeper in a nearby village with an invisible thief. All he wanted was a nice easy job where he got to be his own boss and could take his trusty Dachshunds to work. How much trouble can a typo cause? Night Work - My name is Jane Butterworth. For me, the paranormal is just a day job. I work at the Blue Moon Investigation Agency, a firm that specialises in cases that no one else will take, cases that start at strange and unexplainable and tier rapidly south from there. Bodies of dead cops have been showing up in nearby Biddenden Lake, the site of an unexplained death three years ago. Is there a link between that death and these? The whole area is steeped in ancient history, ghost stories are two-a-penny here but am I really cut out to be a detective? Time to put my big girl pants on. Lord Hale’s Monster - Every second generation of the Hale line dies at the hands of an unnameable monster on his 80th birthday. The current Lord Hale turns 80 this Saturday. To protect himself, Lord Hale has invited paranormal investigation experts Tempest Michaels and Amanda Harper plus their friends and a whole host of other guests from different fields of supernatural exploration for a birthday dinner at his mansion. As they sit down for dinner, the lights start to dim and a moaning noise disturbs the polite conversation. Has Lord Hale placed his faith in the right people, or just led them to share his doom? The paranormal? It’s all nonsense, but proving might just get him killed. Praise for the Blue Moon Investigation series and Steve Higgs: 'Be prepared to struggle with getting anything else done, as you will want to keep reading.' 'Supernatural overtones with a hint of sexual tension, interspersed with humor make this a fantastic book.' 'Truly delightful tales of mystery and misadventure.'

Not enjoyable with AI performance

I liked the stories very much but will be sure to never buy an audiobook again that is narrated by AI. Many of the words were mispronounced, many time the inflections were wrong, and worst of all the books are set in England but the voice was distinctly a flat American accent. It definitely decreased the enjoyment of otherwise very fun stories.

fun story. garbage voice.

Honestly virtual voice is not going to replace a good reader. There was times the voice was squelchy and screechy or scratchy and sounded like there was something wrong with the electronics. No tone, inflection or variation so I literally passed out a few times while listening. Story could use a good reader with a UK accent. . Otherwise I think I'd of had more fun reading the actual text. The absolue worst part was the virtual voice reading the index. A reader wouldn't of toutured me like that. If anyone wants a virtual voice to drone on and make pauses in unnatural places I could of gone to youtube but I stuck around for the story. Performance ruined it.
