Good Boxed Set

I get leery when purchasing a boxed set. Most of the time I’m disappointed. But this is a good one. The intrigue, Mystery, and political manipulations kept me entertained. The characters were unusual and entertaining. There are some humorous scenes especially in book 2. The romance bounces among several male potentials and is funny when our heroine is constantly being interrupted from her sexual goals. Ms. Stephens does a great job on the narration making sure there are different voices for the characters. I especially loved baby Demon’s and Gram’s voices. Book 4 does not complete the series so I’m looking forward to when book five is added to Audible.

Narration was phenomenal. The book itself has largely believable characters which inner dialogue humor throughout.

Voice was easy to listen to and expressive. listened to entire series as the author changed it up and kept it interesting.

Outlandish Heart

Funny and heartful characters against a fantastic foe. The idea and theme are quite fun and quirky but seriously good against evil. The narrator suits the characters beautifully. I'm totally excited for the next installment!!

this series had me cracking up! loved the action and so caught up to know what happens with Jax and the rest of the crew

Main character flaws

I listened to the Audible box set. Overall the story is interesting and the narration is very good. My only problem with the story is that the author creates a smart, strong female lead then turns her into a disappointing character by making her do all the cliché things an airhead would do. And mixing with that is the inane internal dialogue she has about her lack of a sex life. I was generous with 4 stars just because the other characters were more interesting and the story kept me entertained. But I doubt I’ll be interested in any future books in this series or by this author.

Loved this genre. Kept me guessing and I couldn’t put it down. A little disappointed it was a boxed set without the final book. Highly recommend.
