Publisher's summary

Logan Crowne needs one year from Ella.

Twelve months living in his house, holding his hand, wearing his ring on her finger, and in exchange, she’ll get her father’s company in the divorce settlement.

They have one year to convince his skeptical parents that they’re happily in love, and he’s settled enough to run Crowne Industries.

Ella wants the company badly enough to live with a man who will never love her. She’ll sleep in his room and kiss him for show.

Her heart may melt whenever he’s around, and his touch may ignite a fire inside her, but surrender will break her heart.

She’s sure she can last a year without giving him her body.

She’s wrong.

Better than the first!

I started this book and kind of felt like I was missing something so I went back and listened to Iron Crowne, then things and people made a little bit more sense. Overall I really enjoyed this book, probably more than the first one. I just really liked Logan and Ella’s chemistry.

Second book is another hit!

I really enjoyed Ella and Logan’s story as they struggled through a bevel of lies to find the actual truth together. Totally love the Crowne Patriarch & Matriarch of this family. Moving on to the next book cuz this series is super good.

FIVE STAR FRICTION, FIREWORKS & FEELS

Yes it’s a ‘marriage of convenience’ story and we all know how they go.. but once again, CD has written a captivating story with layered characters and a rollercoaster journey that’s fraught with friction, fire and feels. Ella has one goal - save Papillon her late father’s fashion label legacy from her stepmother’s destructive rule.. and she thinks the one year marriage bargain she sets with Logan Crowne will flow smoothly, will end with her happily walking away with majority shares in Papillon and will end with her heart intact.. oh girl, wrong on all counts. Logan’s father has given him an ultimatum - get married if he wants to remain CEO of Crowne Industries.. and Logan finds the right woman and thinks the Contract he’s signed with Ella won’t sting with backlashes, won’t change his business goals and won’t emotionally challenge or change him.. oh man, again, wrong on all counts.

It’s a very very entertaining well-paced emotionally-charged push ‘n push as Ella and Logan act on their attraction and fiery chemistry, build mythical backstories, slowly blur boundaries, build a tentative relationship, become a couple and discover life-changing truths about themselves. They are both very passionate about their goals, about their family.. and very quickly about each other.. but it takes them a while to turn lust into love. It’s a passionate, sexy, angsty rollercoaster as polar opposites stumble and tumble together during the year and undergo a good degree of character growth. A sexy, drool-worthy, tightly wound, hot alpha hero with a hard shell to crack and an independent, artsy, free spirited sassy heroine who loses her goals, finds herself and uncovers truths along the way. Good secondary characters too. The awesome dual POV narration by Joe and Maxine brought the story to life and were the absolutely perfect fit for Ella and Logan’s love story

Worth a credit? Yes definitely I loved every single glorious minute of it and it was a “just one more chapter” well-written slow burn that delivered on so so many levels.. and I’m counting the days until the next one. Can be a stand-alone.. but please try not to miss Iron Crowne.

I love the Crowne’s!

Book 2 is just as good as book 1!! In this we meet Ella, an artist who works in the design house created by her father and now run by her step mother after his death…. She’s not happy and wants ownership of the company…. Logan’s father relieves him of his company until he finds a wife, which is something he always wanted but on his timeline..

This makes for a very interesting story…. Will Logan get his head out of the business long enough to realize what’s he truly wants? The finding out is so much fun!!!

Joe Arden…. I don’t have to say more! He’s a favorite for me and Maxine Mitchell is quickly a favorite for me as well! Loved the narration!

I’m loving this series!

Logan and Ella’s story starts as a marriage of convenience and though they make a one year commitment to each other it was obvious to me that the Rich Guy, Poor Girl scenario wouldn’t go as planned. I knew there was more to Logan than the workaholic loner and Ella was meant for bigger things than working for the stepmother she despises. I liked both characters because Ella is stronger than she gives herself credit for and Logan goes after what he thinks he wants with dogged determination. I also enjoyed learning more about the Crowne family patriarchs just as much as I continue to love the nuanced writing of CD Reiss. She always writes with the goal of exposing the strengths and weaknesses of her characters so she can examine what really motivates them. I’m loving this series!
