Enjoyed the first book, but decided not to continue
Usually with a duet or series I will first read the reviews of the other books before starting the series. I didn't do that with this one and I regret it. Overall the story was good, but I wouldn't call it a romance. There was a lot of up and down (mostly down) and I was trying to figure out why these characters were drawn to each other. I still enjoyed the story, which is why I give it 5 Stars. The narrators did a good job.
I finished the story and went to look at the reviews for book 2 and I'm not inclined to get it. The reviewers agreed that the FMC was too whiny and the story dragged out. One reviewer mentioned that the action in the story happened in the last two chapters. That's a long time for nothing to happen and I don't want to waste a credit. I'll look for something else to move onto.

Finally something new about mafia romances
A proper story. Atypical. Not heavy on the sec scenes, though there are steamy scenes. Well written some twists and turns which were authentic to the story.
Not a fan of Laura Horowitz. But still good.

Such a nice twist
Definitely a different twist to a crime boss trope novel. Enjoyed this story immensely, can’t wait to start the second novel.

Not like the other ones
I really enjoyed the story. I was expecting it to be a bit cheesy, but it was excellent. It’s not the same old trope of mafia guy knocks up a chick in a one night stand, and the trauma the characters deal with is more believable.
