Slowing play speed improved listening experience!

This is the perfect Pride Party right here in Ian Brazee-Cannon's book 'A Day at Georgie and Armand's Place'! This cross-genre adventure features an overlapping yet well-organized offering of science fiction, fantasy, steampunk, mystery, and lots of rainbow romance. We meet Master Mages and dragon shifters, Georgie and Armand, at their interdimensional hotel that interfaces with many thousands of worlds and millions of different beings. We encounter their individual stories throughout the narrative but the overall story arc includes a force that is disruptive to the Hotel with a goal of destruction. The story concludes with an exposure of the culprit, the plan, and the reason why Georgie and Armande were targeted. I wanted to dive into my audio speakers and live in the universe the writer created. Such amazing world-building! Everything was so refreshing and new. Mixing the genre lead to something absolutely unique and quite interesting. I love the different stories of the different beings that the writer described so clearly. I grinned during most of the audiobook and was delighted to discover that Georgie and Armand have vacation stories that are also available in audio format. This was a truly enjoyable listening experience in audiobook format, especially when I slowed the play speed from 1.0 to 0.80! Give reader Alistair Dryburgh a chance, audiobook lovers. Just slow that narration speed down.

A Very Unique Fantasy Story

I loved the story of Georgie and Armand's place, a multidimensional hotel built and run by the two gay dragon mages. the workings of the hotel and the many creatures that help run and stay in the hotel are fascinating. the flow of the story was a little jarring at times but the overall story was good. Although the story has many of the usual fantasy elements it is very unique and I can't wait to read or listen to the next book.

The narrator is very good and I found myself getting lost in the story as he narrated it. it was very clear which character he was speaking for as he used different voices for them. I hope he is used as the narrator for the next book!

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good unique fantasy story!
