Acerca de esta escucha

The first dragonrider in over a hundred years has been born...and it’s a girl. Never before has a female been chosen to ride a dragon.

The Elite, a guild comprised exclusively of dragonriders, is dead according to most. No one has seen a rider in decades. The problems they used to fight overwhelm the world. Dragons are thought to be near extinction.

However, the Elite aren’t dead...It’s just that a bunch of crusty old men who do nothing that benefits the world at large are easy to mistake as useless corpses.

Sophia Beaufont is about to change all of that.

When the dragon egg that magnetized to her hatches, it sets Sophia on a new course. The Elite are immediately notified. She’s expected to train, defend, and fight.

Sophia is ready to conquer evil, as the dragon riders should have been doing for centuries. However, the Elite have been turning a blind eye, allowing the world to be overrun by criminals.

That’s all about to change. S. Beaufont isn’t a girl who will be told to sit down and relax when a war is brewing that only a dragonrider can extinguish.

I LOVE THESE BOOKS!! This is my second time through them; the first time I actually read them. Now, I’m loving listening to them! It helps me concentrate on the diamond painting I’m working on!

The interaction between the characters is priceless!

A continuation of a great fantasy series.
Lots of the old characters come back, and the story just continues with the house of 14 and the dragon elite.

I highly recommend Sophia’s books

I have listened up to chapter 24 so far, and so far there is no story beyond “a female born in exceptional circumstances joins a previously male-only group that does not do anything”. The maturity level seems along the lines of the Descendants series by Disney. I was really hoping for more substance here, but am too bored by the book to continue.

Not Much of a Story

This is more of a young adult, save the planet from the nasty corporate goons, sort of book with some dragons thrown in. Mary Sue, er... I mean Sophia always does everything better and faster than anyone else before her.

Yawn

Like many audiobooks I've listened to, this suffers from a severe lack of an editor. I understand wanting to plush up the narration time, but at least make it somewhat substantial.

Not much progression

The story's world build is hard to figure out. It sounds like rhe female MC is from a late 20-early 21st century modern wo4ld. The dragon riders time frame is rifficult to figure out. There are vikings, Native Americans and others. There is conflict because the dragon riders are normal male resistant to change, new ideas etc. Its not clear why the dragon riders want/chose to live in isolation. Supposedly dragons are invisible to the general population. But nothing indicates the males are. So why didn't they make at least a token attempt at keeping up in the world? The reader is excellent. She keeps the story going thrugh the long winded boring parts.

good reader boring story
