About this listen

Three Volumes For A Single Offering Chaos is afoot!

What was meant to be a simple hunt turned into a life-changing adventure! Caldor is whisked into a world of magic, adventure, and politics. Can he survive long enough to reach his goals?

In a magical world known as ‘The Wyrd’ only those who have the Spark can be adventurers, diving into magical dungeons, getting epic loot, and leveling up by collecting essence. Caldor is several years past the age when most people find out they are sparked, but that doesn’t stop him from wishing.

Caldor’s father was an adventurer and he wants nothing more than to be like him, an Arcane Knight. When his hunt goes sideways and he finds that he can harness the powers of being a Sparked, he is filled with excitement and ready to battle his way to the top!

Magic, adventure, and a dose of unwanted politics await him; will he survive long enough to become an Arcane Knight? Listen and find out.

It starts off strong

As the title says it starts off strong only for the naive mc to get an inflated ego. He bounces back in forth with his intelligence and naivety only to spiral down. I was on board til book 3 when all the progress the mc seems to make only to revert back to ignorant naive child. Progression on lvling and story comes to a halt and mc makes a 180 from a sensible, caring and independent thinker to a bootlicker. Goes against the advice from his oldest friends and gf only to fuck around and find out. Going from a staunchly independent adventurer to idk what by the end. The mc is all other the place mentally and that's even before the war starts. I have hopes for the next books but not holding my breath I have a feeling it's going to be more of the same.

just another power character that didn't earn it

I get it that sooner people are born with silver spoons, but so many stories present op characters that gets 100 times others even without a fraction of knowledge or effort. oddly they also tend to be drunks and gluttons, idiots and fools. it makes the characters 2d and people I care less about than the hard working companions that fail to keep up.

I really like the LitRPG concepts in this series

Already bought the next 2 in the series. So it is enjoyable. It doesn’t quite scratch every itch of the genre but I am still sticking around to see where this goes.

This was awesome!

I loved this story, and how Caldor got exposed to the different things in the world. This was one of my favorite stories so far this year.

Great except for one thing

Most way through book 2 at this point and unless 3 has a big shift in quality ill ride the series out. My biggest "complaint" without spoilers would have to be that the MC gets pulled around by the nose a lot for someone who wants to forge their own path and live their own adventures.

Other than that Characters are diverse, the system is interesting and the fights arent terribly plot armored for a series. Overall well worth the credit once you get this deep down the litrpg list.

Update upon finishing book 2, Ill be taking a long pause or stopping all together. I still enjoyed the world, the system. the side characters and progression, but MC only gets worse as it goes on.

Star wars as a litrpg

So predictable and formulaic, a few interesting dungeon moments. Worked good as sleep aid. Boring OP protagonist. Combat underwhelming with elementary descriptions.

great story

You have to love all the references, especially the Adam's family reference. I can't wait to see all the others.

Female narrator is terrible

Loved the story. Male narrator is great but female narrator is has no depth. She tries but the it’s all the same annoying “trying to be seductive voice”

Now that was a solid start

I thoroughly enjoyed books 1 through 3. I value my credits and like to spend them on omnibuses because 56 hours is a ton of content. It had some flaws, but the voice acting was superb and the story gripped me a few hours in. Will keep going for sure.
