Extremely Informative

This book gave so much incite-full information on the science of reading. The audio recording was entertaining and easy to follow along.

Powerful Book!

Malia’s book is a great resource for helping breakdown the Science of Reading into easy and applicable steps. She gives a very thorough explanation and shares the research to back it up! I will use this book as reference and guidance this year!

Informative, but very promotional

I appreciated this book and enjoyed getting an explanation of the science of reading that was a bit lighter on the dense academic vocabulary than many other books. This was easy to understated and a quick listen. However, every chapter ended with an encouragement to check out the author's website and post on social media with specific tags and hashtags. The constant self promotion was a bit annoying.

Thank You for the Audio Book Format

I am a teacher of elementary students. This audiobook gives you a brief, but important overview of why teaching using the Science of Reading is so important for our students. It also provides you with QUICK, EASY to implement tools to start using in your classroom right away! I highly recommend this book and it's teaching strategies. (Thank you for the audio book Format as well. This made the content so much more accessible for me.)

Great and Resourceful

Loved it so much that I ended up buying the physical book! It is great to have it physically to be able to refer back to it. She did a wonderful job on providing the information in a way that wasn't overwhelming. Loved the resources she provided as well. Loved that she narrated the book as well. Overall good.

Good summary

For anyone who has been involved in the science of reading for the last 3-5 years, this will not be new information, but it is an organized, well-written summary. The way to teach sight words (heart words) is the only slightly different piece of info from other sources I’ve read. Quality information, but I have researched a lot about the science of reading, so this was not new to me.

Amazing resource!

This is a great resource for all teachers. Malia did a great job narrating! I highly recommend this audio book.

SOR ON TOP!

This is the BEST SOR book I’ve read other than Uncovering the Logic of English by Denise Eide! This book was full of interesting, research-based strategies!
