As a wielder of domestic magic, Finlay Ashowan likes to keep his affairs as neat and orderly as his kitchen. But between his work for the King and Queen of Daxaria and a new (secret) relationship with Lady Annika Jenoure, his life is anything but tidy.
For one thing, if Annika and Fin are to continue their romance, they’ll need to sort out the pesky issue of Fin’s being a commoner—before Annika is forced into a political marriage that interferes with her own carefully laid plans.
For another, pressure is mounting as the war with Troivack draws ever closer. But why all of the sudden, is Finn referred to as “the red head” OVER and OVER and OVER? It has become annoying.

Love It!
I read this first book & loved it! I decided to try the audio book when I was on a road trip & unable to continue reading for long periods of time. Imagine my surprise when I found out that Matthew Wolf was the narrator! This doesn't disappoint!

The characters in this series are so wonderfully described. They all have very interesting personalities and wonderful sense of humor. These are written so well even if not truly sticking to the vernacular of the times. What the author is writing is so perfect and fits do well I'm sure no one cares. The narration was so well done I thank you.

I love this continuing story
What a fun way to spend my time. I love these books. I love the narrator and the characters. I’m so happy that book 3 is finally here! I think if I were a witch I would be a house witch for certain. Perhaps I already am 🤨😁 Time to get my listen on!

So enjoyed
Love the story and the different characters. The reader is remarkable how he does so many voices that seem to belong to each one. Not fond of Krakens voice and admit to skipping over when he gets with the other cats but all in all great listen!
