Delightfully cute cozy story.
This is a delightfully cute cozy story about a spinster in Edwardian England whose lived her entire life as a shadow person to her domineering younger sister. Currently living as a nurse maid and tutor to her sisters kids, in her sister's house. And due to circumstances she inherited some of her uncle's possessions including a Dragon egg... and as the newly hatched baby Dragon grows and spreads his wings she's emboldened enough to spread her's too.
Zara Ramm absolutely caught the flavor of the time period and of Maud Percy as she narrated this story.

Author’s voice
The story is mildly familiar (though the addition of a fun lil dragon is great) but it’s the way the author let loose with parenthetical comments that makes it more fun and entertaining than most regency era stories.

Story had some good spots and a lot of boring
It was so-so. Some of it was funny, but it drawled on ALOT. I did finish the story, but I honestly could have stopped listening at any time and not have felt compelled to finish it.

Wonderful fantasy hidden in historical normalcy
Much as I love great descriptors, my only wish was that it was a bit less verbose where it was repetitive. Otherwise, it was all a great distraction!

Absolutely stunning
Quenby Olson has crafted something truly magnificent with MISS PERCY’S POCKET GUIDE. The humour is brilliant, and plays so well in the audio version, with Zara delivering the asides perfectly. Miss Percy herself is a triumph. her evolution from and afterthought in her own life to a woman who stands for herself brought me to tears. For anyone who ever felt undervalued or unseen, Miss Percy sees you. Miss Percy is for you.

Absolutely charming and enjoyable
This is a fantastic book. I really enjoyed the snippets where the author broke the fourth wall.
There were wonderful moments of humor, great flow to the book, well developed characters, and all around enjoyable.
Also - Zara Ramm is MY FAVORITE narrator. She is the reason I decided to read this book and found it on audible.
I can’t wait to read the next one!

Refreshing Dragon tale
I thoroughly enjoyed this take on a fantasy story. It is written from the point of view of a middle aged, single woman. She is quite relatable. It's so nice to have a protagonist that isn't a child or teen.
