Biz owners - Read this once a year
I’ve built 4 companies so far with one exit. If I had this road map from the beginning… it’s a little painful to think about how much further along I would be.
save yourself that pain. Finish this book before the end of the week.
Then revisit the relevant section to your business once a quarter.
I’ll be referencing this book once a quarter at a minimum. I don’t need anything else.

Not “Shelf Help”
The book ends with Dan talking about this concept of “shelf help.” If you want to read a book and feel good about your business, not the book first you. If you want your business to actually improve and ready to implement incredible ideas, dive in! Awesome book. Got it for my entire team.

Little value
There is little to gain from this book. Maybe because I’ve founded a few companies, but the concepts could be written in one short blog post. And even then it wouldn’t be very good. Disappointing because I was really excited to read this. I was expecting it to be more like “how brands grow”, but with a software angle.
Let me summarize it for you: add customers, activate customers, retain customers, expand customers. Then through an unclear, conversational approach - they tell you random stories that are barely related to the topic.
